Sorry to be so late in with this people but i only just awoke from my slumber behind a bin at the back of NAP oval (GO U DOGGIES!)

Anyway day of the grand final a large group of the boys got together and i just happened to be having a bit of a chat to a couple of Sam Butler's best mates over here. What they have heard from the horses mouth is that he has told the club that he is homesick and ready to leave and be traded back to South Oz.

BEFORE eagles fans jump down my throat for spreading sh*te his mates also told me that it was early days yet, that the club were trying to convince him otherwise and that they were in discussions. Strong word is he is very keen to return home however.

HAVING said that we crows fans shouldnt be jumping for joy just yet either as they told me he wants to return to South Oz not a club in specific.
You would think however Crows would be in the box seat.

Hope the WEAGLES cant convince him and the Centrals boy returns home to be with the 2 best clubs in the land - The Crows and the Doggies :D

On a final note we were also talking about Beau Waters - from what i hear he is a lot more keen on WA lifestyle than Sammie Butler so i think we are little to no chance on that front - but hey, i think secretly all us crows fans knew that, we just like stirring the pot ;)

i think alot of us had suspected this for a long time. i'll summarise my thoughts which have been muted several times on this board.

*its only natural that he is homesick.
*has a year to run on his contract.
*u guys obviously are chasing him.
* i think u have a chance due to the fact butler is not going to get a huge go in our midfield hence he is surplus to requirements if he desperatley wants to go home.
* while i feel for the guy, i cant see us letting him go (this year). he has just played 12 games of afl footy in his debut season and played in a final. i would have thought he would so high on life right now that he would forget about his homesickness.
* i would be extremely reluctant to give up butler and first round pick. so are we as evidenced by the fact the trade hasnt been announced yet.

Be careful mate I said the same thing about Beau and I got ********** canned by the WCE supporters for even passing on the info I got.
I stated a while ago that Beau was very homesick and wanted to come home, I spoke to Beau a few weeks ago and asked him how he is enjoying it and what are the chances of him coming back to Adelaide and he said he wasnt sure at that stage, he didnt sound top convincing either way, whether that was staying or going.
Im sure he will stay which is unfortunate because if I was given a choice between the two I would go for Beau but oh well.
I just hope that if one of them does come back we do not put too much pressure on them to perform, we have to remember they are 18 year olds who have only played a handful of games so we need to let them adjust and mature as a footballer.
In saying all this im sure we will get shafted at the draft table and end up with nothing :D

We are sking for Butler and pick 12, Eagles are not keen on giving up Butler and would rather give us their pick 28.

I am reasonably confident of getting Butler and pick 12. As theorangeapple said I think we are chance because Butler is not going to get a huge chance in their midfield and would get a lot more opportunities here. On top of that he is allegedly homesick

Butler and Thompson along with pick 12 would be a very good get from trade week.

They are very clingy of their players aren't they - i dunno why we'll take good care of them :D

I definitely think sammie would develop into a better midfielder more quickly at the Crows than he would at the Weagles, they have what we need in a fair abundance and we have a guy that wants to go home that i think is the missing piece in their midfield jigsaw. Really i would be happy (as i ever will be losing stinger) with Butts and the first round pick but i don't know how happy eagles supporters would be based on the fact that they aren't getting first crack at the young talent floating around in what appears to be one of the weakest drafts in a fair while.

It's funny because a month ago I was hearing the exact opposite from Sam's family/friends and Beau was more likely to head home...but a few have said that now that the trade talks have come up, he's suddenly interested. Guess he sees the chance to come home and wants to take it. I get the feeling he wants to come home but wouldn't be completely distraught if he stayed.

But, like I said then, blame the Xavier/Gawler Centrals boys not me for the bad info. Knowing them, they were probably drunk at the time ;)

Beau Waters was very keen to leave Adelaide prior to the draft and i know for a fact that he is happy in Perth and is glad to be out of Adelaide.

Does it give that warm feeling inside your body to hang ******** on some other state?

All this is pure speculation and the deals will change every day.
