Does anyone else no quite understand why he'd go to West Coast and not GWS?

I'm thinking the rumour machine is going crazy.

Rumour machine is going crazy on this one. I'm sure you meant GC and not GWS. I'm yet to see any real evidence other than Bigfooty threads that he would be happy to go to West Coast, but it has been stated repeatedly that his preference is to remain in South Australia with family or to play in Melbourne where he also has family. Not too disimilar to the want's of your average 17 year old draftee, but unlike most he has a get out clause in the form of baseball if he doesn't get what he wants.

I imagine every players preference is to stay in their current state. But they'll play elsewhere. If he want's to play AFL, I'm sure he'll be happy getting a tan whilst doing so.

VERY late to the party... but based on potential alone, GC would have to risk it and use one of their first 3 picks on this lad. I'd personally grab him no. 1 (not that it matters). Too much potential to look past.

I know potential is the riskiest thing about drafting kids. But my word does he have it in spades. Could be a once-in-an-era player. I just hope he sticks with the AFL cos I want to watch him play. Simple as that. I don't care who gets him as long as I can watch him play football!
