Little bit more news on my site. Apparently docs are unsure if it has spread or could have spread.
They cut it out and are running tests.

Poor Sammy. Love the bloke

I just read the article, thats horrible. Thats the first I've heard of it too, hope all goes well. Him and JB on the footy show is GOLD :thumbsu:

Absolute champion. Tells it as it bloody is, whether about Geelong or the state of the game. Have never disagreed with him about the Geelong Footy Club - when we've been rubbish he's said so. When we've been brilliant he's said so. Unlike a lot of other past players (both Geelong and others) who take a one-eyed view, one way or the other.

Wish him all the best.

I feel so sad for Sam.......I've been in "love" with him for years....I love the way he calls a spade a spade, no BS with him.....what you see is what you get....and a big softy underneath!!.......Get well Sam........ you'll have too anyway champ, TFS will not be any good without you......and I can then get back to having my "dates" with Sam every thursday night!!.....oh, god, i'm waffling!!......this has really upset me........Thinking of you Sam.....

I've got a lot of respect for Sam, he was a great player for club on the field and a great supporter off it. I've known people who know him and he is a fiercely loyal kind of a guy. He'll have a good network of friends to help him see it through this battle.

Get well soon SAm.

HERE,HERE

You have hit the nail on the head here Daics.

People who dont like Sam or his views are those who dont want to hear the truth and how it really is.

Get well Sammy, the catters have got plenty more of the 07 style that you love so much to show you!!!

I'm surprised at the Doctors suggesting they need to check whether the cancer has spread or not, as I would've thought that would've been done before the surgery.

If there's anything positive to come out of it, prostate cancer is probably the 'best' form of cancer to have if you are going to contract it, as removal of the prostate prior to any sort of spreading is essentially the cure.

Anyhow, I wish him all the best though this, and let's hope they've picked it up early enough. It's a terribly distressing ordeal for himself and his family and friends.

My dad had prostate cancer last year and had his prostate removed, so I know exactly what Sam and his family and friends are going through at the moment.

Although I reckon he is a tosser, you wouldn't wish this on anyone. Hope he recovers.

Agree:thumbsu:

I used to like watching him years ago but in the end he started to sound like a broken record. He just seemed to get lost at times, as if the booze was starting to slow him down.

These life events do make people sit up and take stock of where they are at. Hopefully he comes out of it a better man.

poor bloke, the treatment isn't exactly nice. Good luck to him.

Teddy Whitten died from prostate cancer. Of course there is benign prostatic tumors which means your prostate grows as big as a grapefruit and you find it hard to pee. That is completely recoverable with surgery.

But if they are talking about it spreading then that means they may think it is malignant cancer which is bad. Unforetunately they often aren't sure until surgery and they test the tissues to determine which type of cancer it is.

Hope all goes well for the big fellow.

best wishes to sam and hoping he gets well.
i was in shock when i flicked the news on the other night.
he's a tough bugger thats for sure.

Finally something that might shut him up, not that I wish him ill hope he recovers but the guy does get on my nerves with his repetitive pessimistic nonsense this ought to distract his attention for a while.

He's not pessimistic - he's realistic, unlike most Geelong supporters. Tells it as it is.
