The moment I saw his highlight reel I was very excited. He oozes class and showed it out there today on a windy wet afternoon in just one quarter. I've been surprised by the lack of focus on Swadling when the new comers are being discussed. He just moves with such grace and poise and kicks on both sides of the body. That swivel and then blind turn on the outer wing was a delight. I think he will become another Crispy in terms of games and output. That's my big call for the year! May debut late this season but he will be a regular in a season or two.

I've thought similar about him.

Think he also has a cheeky disposition too, which will make him a fan favourite.

I love the players who have a good opinion of themselves. That cockiness seems to be an ingredient which most winners have.

About as impressive a debut as any player could hope to have, in a single quarter of an AFL practice match. It ain't much to go on, but there certainly was plenty to admire and wrap a bit of hope around for the future.
As I said, he's the most likely to debut first. I know it's only one quarter of a practice match but you still need to be able to find the ball and make good decisions, he showed that in spades

I"m struggling to think of a more impressive last quarter debut from a newbie in a practice match in Ballarat.

Admittedly I didn't watch this impressive one either.

Definitely worth keeping an eye on

You obv haven’t read my training reports… 😉

2 Feb…

Swadling - busy again. Just from his desire (and skills), looks a 150 game player already. Know it’s early, but the ones who want it the most always stand out. And this kid does. In plenty of action already, and reckon he will be banging on the coaches door from day 1…. Will have to be patient and work on his craft a bit more though. But will come out of the gates hard in the VFL

Thanks Jen. I didn’t watch the game, so this is much appreciated.

The kid goes alright.😍 I know he was fresh on for the last quarter, but he didn’t waste the opportunity. Was right in the thick of it.

Knows where the ball is. Will be fun to see him rack it up in the vfl

Didn't really hit any targets by foot though, did he? I'm not talking long kicks to a contest, I'm talking see a player and hit that player.

Had a Strong Debut in the VFL:

Swadling Debut.webp

Can see why he average about 35 touches a Game in the WAFL Colts

Getting 25 in VFL Debut

Looks a Very Likely Type
