Walsh never kicked the sealer on Anzac Day either I hear. Damning statistic.He gets it a lot, thats for sure, not really able to impact the game like Zaharakis yet.
I noticed Zaharakis got the fabled 20 and 3 on the weekend, Walsh needs to learn the poise and skill from a proven match winner like Zaharakis.
Gotta admit, that first goal of his in the wet in the dying seconds is the stuff you do in the backyard as a kid.Walsh never kicked the sealer on Anzac Day either I hear. Damning statistic.
More like Joe DirtShowed mullet boi who is the BOSS!
Running around trying to do flashy things and was utterly ineffectual, whilst Sam covered the most ground, set up attack after attack, mullet boi is still out there trying to get a kick to advantage!

David won an Anzac Day medal a few years ago too. A big game player obviously. Something Sam will probably never have the opportunity to emulate.Why did Zaharakis retire after that Anzac day game?
And what has he been doing for all those years before his surprise comeback to footy last week?
Look I like Sam, he's a decent middle of the run depth player. Every team needs them.
We had the luxury of allowing Andy to learn his craft sitting in a star packed backline for years. Paying dividends now too (feel free to compare current year stats).Geez if he's a middle of the run depth player then I would hate to think what plodder McGrath is, this is kind of embarrassing when you remember that he's being compared to a second year player here. Walsh on the left.

So he was playing as an unaccountable half-back with a "star packed backline" around him doing all the heavy lifting and this was still the best he could manage? Damning.We had the luxury of allowing Andy to learn his craft sitting in a star packed backline for years. Paying dividends now too (feel free to compare current year stats).
Like I said I like Sammy. On talent he just seems a bit high for a first round pick, that's all.
Its called sharing the load friend. Something Carlton could do well in trying to learn. You would think with about 14 number 1 draft picks in the last few years the concept would have sunk in by nowSo he was playing as an unaccountable half-back with a "star packed backline" around him doing all the heavy lifting and this was still the best he could manage? Glad you brought this up, it highlights the fundamental weakness in Sams game which stops him from being an effective footballer.Geez if he's a middle of the run depth player then I would hate to think what plodder McGrath is, this is kind of embarrassing when you remember that he's being compared to a second year player here. I think we did alright with that against your mob didn't we?Its called sharing the load friend. Something Carlton could do well in trying to learn. You would think with about 14 number 1 draft picks in the last few years the concept would have sunk in by now![]()
Walsh is a good ordinary player....to be fair, he gets a lot of the footy but his kicks lack penetration and accuracy and he doesn't impact the scoreboard.
Ridiculously low compared to what? Fyfe maybe? Didn't think ~3% was that big a difference but obviously I need to reassess.Glad you brought this up, it highlights the fundamental weakness in Sams game which stops him from being an effective footballer.
That disposal efficiency is ridiculously low and the turnover stays are very high.
Wouldn't want the ball in his hands.
Compared to the player your comparing him to in the graphic numptyRidiculously low compared to what? Fyfe maybe? Didn't think ~3% was that big a difference but obviously I need to reassess.
So compared to the guy who has twice as many uncontested possessions as contested then, I see.Compared to the player your comparing him to in the graphic numpty
So a guy in his 4th season is performing better statistically than a guy in his 2nd? I am shocked to be sitting here.

Not going to argue Rankine's talent but don't you have to have won at least one game to be a match winner?Walsh may get a lot more ball, which is fine, but he is no where near as dangerous as Rankine.
Walsh = dependable workhorse.
Rankine = match winner.

We actually know all about shuffling former failed high draft pick mids to the backline. It's a bit of a Carlton traditionIts called sharing the load friend.
