Thankyou for your opinion, *******.

Medhurst - Watson
Rocca - Fletcher
Johnson - Welsh
Fraser - McVeigh
O'Brien - Laycock
Maxwell - Prismall
- Lovett
- Reimers
- Gumbleton

all first 22 players.

Medhurst, Rocca, Johnson, Fraser, O'Brien, Maxwell, H.Shaw (played 1/4) aswell as Rusling who if fit would be in our best 14. Quite sure a few others. I would only rate Welsh, McViegh as key missing players. Fletcher is lucky he is fast otherwise he wouldve been delisted last year and Watson couldnt kick to save himself. 15th - 16th.

Maxwell is Vandenburg MKII. It is dangerous picking a captain who can hardly play the game.

Rusling will never be fit. His shoulders are made out of balsa wood.

The only good thing about O'Brien is his name (Heritier).

If Gumbleton and Laycock are in your best 22 then i am very sorry Bombers fans but it'll be yet another very long season for you.

Disagree. If I said the same thing about Wood/Bryan and Rusling on your board, I'd get told how they are both the next coming, etc. etc.

The fact is, with Hille, Lloyd and Lucas, we can cover a bit of slack from Laycock and Gumbleton. However, with Fraser, Rocca and Cloke, there is a greater necessity for those Byran/Wood and Rusling to pull their weight.

Tbh, second ruckman and third tall aren't exactly the most important spots on the field. A combined total of 35 goals from the two would be a good return, and very achievable, barring injury.

I wouldn't be overly worried about last night. I suppose the only thing was the kicking skills. In a half paced game they were pretty ordinary, but that will no doubt sharpen up. You have a lot of very quick blokes who will cause headaches when they are up and going. Hurley will be a very good player by the looks of things. Nice size and looked composed.

Good on ya mate. Very accurate summary.:thumbsu:

One thing that was confirmed last night, was that Wood and Bryan are still the worst ruck combination in the league.

The main reason why Collingwood aren't a serious contender this year.

Worse than Cloke + Warnock/Hampson, given Kreuzer will probably play forward?

It's good to know that when the real stuff starts, Hille will give us a huge leg up on the filth and the scum.:D:thumbsu:

Bellchambers seems to getting better with every match which is very pleasing. We look alot better when Hille is at the centre bounces which is understandable but Tom is looking ok imo. But Darcy DUDiher my god! Can he do anything at all? He drops the pill like a hot potatoe, his kicking is ordinary & seems completely lost. I hope we didnt just get him for his surname.

I disagree with you there. There is no doubt he isn't ready for AFL yet but some of the things he has done in the last couple of games make me think he could be ok. The half volley pickup and handball in trouble in the 3rd quarter was great. He is only in his 2nd year so give the poor kid a break...he isn't Joel Reynolds yet.

Bellchambers appeared to start slowly last night but he is Improving and is close to being ahead of Laycock.

I say that for Laycock a few years ago looked promising but struggled last season, hopefully this year he regains his confidence.

I know this is probably the worst thing you could say about a footballer, but Darcy Daniher looked like Courtney Johns a bit last night.

More so the way he moves lol, but a few times when he overran the ball it was text book CJ.

Not even close. He did overrun it a few times, but it was just that he misjudged the bounce or was carried along by momentum or his opponent. Even then he had good agility and turned around pretty quickly and got back into the play. Darcy's movement doesn't look anything like CJ, aesthetically speaking.

CJ on the other hand had the agility of a mack truck, could stop on an airstrip, and didn't know whether he was coming or going when in defense.

Bachar Houli had a great game.

Inside or outside the packs, he's in there getting the ball and getting better with every match.

The ones on this board who say he's not skilled enough will eat their words:)

I thought that he played an average game at best.

Finding a suitable position for Darcy is an issue.

I can't see a position for him in the near future and possibly long term future. Id like to Hurley and Pears develop into our defenders with Ryder playing a roaming third defender role. Up forward seems he's most likely chance however if neagle and gumbleton stay fit and become serious players, i cant see a spot for him there either. This year he would be behind lloyd, lucas, fletch, ryder, neagle, gumby, mcphee, pears, hurley. hooker n still r probably the only kpps that he in front of.

I have a few concerns, but its not panic stations. I still think we are gonna be a better side than last year which was a better side than the year before that and so on. Considering arguably our best 3 midfielders were out (Mcveigh, Watson, Lovett) i think the midfield got a pass mark despite some poor kicking. People often incorrectly believe that kicking accuracy is something that doesnt improve from the NAB cup to home and away but it definitely should and often does. If you find yourself saying ''it may only be nab cup but so and so was shit'' or whatever then you should probably rethink it

The poor skills are a real worry. Be it Nab Cup or not , missing simple targets when not under pressure is simply not on at AFL level.
We will continue to be a mid range side if we dont fix the problem.

Overall the loss was not a major concern at this stage of the year.

Basically this what i was trying to say when starting the post...ant just has a better way of saying it.
i dont mean to be critical BUT. there is so many areas we need to improve and if i didnt care i wouldnt say a thing...no use just sitting back and saying oh well ...we have been shocking with turnovers over the past 2/3 years and i dont think ive seen improvement in that area so im just hoping we can start hitting targets which will then create a more run on and even flowing style of play...more so...affective style...
