Our midfield is rubbish everybody knows it. The crows midfielders are running forward of the ball becuase they know they will win 80% of the clearnces. They are taking the punt and its working and making us look second rate. Unfortunately there isnt much we can do about it at the moment other than play more kids in there but that isnt going to change the result although it may fast track a few players.

Well its all over now (not that it wasnt before this) The question will be what number we pick at.
I thought it has been a bit rough on Thomas , spent most of the game on the bench and will no doubt be dropped for next week. Winderlich and Alvey once again do as few nice things without much influence . Seems to be the same story all the time , i know the spend a lot of time on the bench but they just need to find more of the footy when they are on.
Solly , im not going to bag him too much as up to this year he has been great for us, but he is really struggling . The injuries have killed his fitness this year and his frustrations are making him even worse at giving away frees.
Over all a very poor performance and another 100 point demolition coming up next friday ,followed up by a weeks rest and then a smashing from the Saints.
Not going to be much to cheer about in the next month :(

That was extremely ******** weak, and we deserve any and all criticism we get for it.

Solly is having a laugh this season surely. Unaccountable, irresponsible and lazy. Should be dropped, though playing vs West Coast might be better punishment.

Alvey will never have much of an impact in this side but I disagree on Winders. He threw himself into the mix and tried hard to create some run, however no one was running with him. He is also not being used enough. IMO he needs to be left on for the 2nd and 4th 1/4's so he can have an impact for more than five minutes.

Solly should not be allowed back on the main parks until round 14. He needs time to get the feel of the footy back by playing for the BB's. For a guy who carried on about the Japan trip teaching him that his undisciplined acts have hurt his team mates he has not changed much. In fact, he has gotten worse as the frustration of injury, poor form and poor team performances have deepened.

Dyson, Winders, Stants & Watson will be good going forward (06/07) however we desperately need some hard ball winners and one classy midfielder.

Agree. I was even tempted to give Winder a vote coz he really looked like he was having a crack and was pretty effective, especially in the 2nd Q i think it was.

I have a lot of wraps on Winders. I wish they would just play the kid every week as he will only get better.

He goes hard, he has pace, he gives a second and third effort and every now and again he gets a break from a pack. Sure he makes the odd mistake but he is young and will get over that.

FREES AGAINST
1. Matthew Primus Port Adelaide 21
2. Josh Francou Port Adelaide 19
3. Richard Vandenberg Hawthorn 19
4. Justin Longmuir Fremantle 17
5. Jimmy Bartel Geelong 17
6. Robert Copeland Brisbane Lions 17
7. Adam McPhee Essendon 17
8. Mark McVeigh Essendon 16

9. Paul Licuria Collingwood 16
10. Lance Franklin Hawthorn 16
38. Dean Solomon Essendon 12

Having two players in the top ten really is dissapointing. I was actually surprised to have seen Solly come in at number 38, however he has missed 2 games this season so I have no doubt he would've probably been in the top 10 as well. That would probably have made it 3 players in the top 10. Not good enough!

We are simply to undisciplined and unaccountable. How many easy uncontested possesions did the crows have tonight? way too many, there just seemed to be adelaide players running wherever they felt.

No surprise with the result.
We just cannot cope against teams with good midfield depth. Melbourne, Geelong and now Adelaide.

If you thought last night was bad, wait until next week against the Eagles in Perth.

The best midfield in the comp coming off a disappointing game.
It will be a 50 point plus slaughter. More likely even more.

We really need to trade at the end of the year for some onballers. We have plenty of talls at the club who have some value.
The onballers don't need to be All Australians. Just proven at AFL level who give us some depth. Justin Murphy types.

And I'll say it again. Winderlich is not up to AFL standard at the moment. Needs to put on another 5kgs and improve his disposal.

He should be dropped.
He spent 92 minutes on the ground and got donuts and didn't look like getting anywhere near it.

I said this weeks ago and got critised but I really feel like saying "I told you so."
He is slow, slow with the ball, slow to react, slow to get to the contest.

He wasn't the reason we lost, but we have better options in the VFL.

Who? and I ask that becasue what I saw on the weekend, there isn't much in the magoos for us.

Slattery, Monfires and Hunt are the only ones I would even consider bringing in.

Slattery would have given us more in the role Thomas played. A lot more. Wasn't a great game yesterday (and hopefully a one off) but our younger group of kids had a crack. Slattery, Monfries, Nash, Jolley.

You judge this on one game? Players have bad days mate and i wouldnt be making too many assumptions based on the frankston game.

I have been watching them on the telly as well, i know it is not as good, but this is on the basis of more than one game. Problem was, the saem old problems of when under pressure, handball were apparent. That is something that is instinctive, and when you start to do that under pressure, you know things are not going right.

I think a lot of that blame has to be given to the senior players of the side. Carter, Bullen and Haynes were the biggest culprits and it very quickly spread through the rest of the side.

Yeah - well Haynes really set the rot in on the wing a couple of times - never seen such a selfish player (who isn't that good). he is a FIGJAM without the results.

On Winderlich , i really would like to see him stay on the ground for a couple of quarters. At the moment he seems to do some good things in 10 minute bursts before vanishing then heading to the bench. He is one player i belive they should give a reasonable amount of game time in the coming weeks to really test him out.

Because he was second to the ball.

You really dont like him do you lol I still think your judgment is very harsh on a guy in his first season of AFL . Sure he is older and played a bit of SANFL but it is still a big step up. He may never make it but he hasnt had a lot of chance to show it. In the VFL games i have seen him in he has been in our top 8 or so players.

92 minutes for 0 touches is about as much of a chance I'm willing to give him when his VFL form is not as good as those still down there.

I want him to make it, he is an Essendon listed player so I want the absolute best for him. I just don't see him making it.
