Samsung S3 Users.

I have loved my phone since I got it but last week it upgraded to ICS and since then it lags but the worse thing is what it has done to the battery life. I used to get home from work with about 40% life left but now it will often run out before I get home, it's driving me nuts! Is anyone else having these issues?

I assume you mean Jellybean, as it should have come with ICS.

Did you do a factory reset when you upgraded? It might be best to back everything up and start from scratch, there's probably an app/service in there somewhere that's gone haywire (you might be able to spot it in the battery usage monitor).

ooops yep i meant jelly bean, it come up with "update available" on the phone so i clicked yes and it downloaded direct and installed. i might do a full reset....and hope that fixes it.

First off try a cache clear:

1. power off
2. hold down volume up + home + power all at once
3. wait until the boot screen comes up and it will says recovery in the top left very small, let go at this point
4. use the volume up and down to scroll and use the power button to select
5. choose wipe cache
6. than choose boot system

That helped me with the lag.

Download juice defender and clean master apps. Also if your running a lot of widgets get rid of some.

It's a shame some of the phones best features eat through battery like Garfield eats lasagne.

I had the same issues so updated to 4.1.2 and it seems to have fixed the problem.
Here is the download and procedure.

EDIT: It also gives you the new split screen feature....very handy
