Sandi should be our captain - never lets us down and leads by example. Seriously don't know what is going on with Pav .Racks up possesions yet his disposal has been poor for his standards most of the year.He just isn't as damaging anymore

Whether or not Pav should remain captain is a question for another day. But you can tell Sandi is a true leader and he never let's the team down. Definitely our number 1 player by a fair way

The problem with Pav is 100% about coaching. He is not being used well, and should be in the forward line.

I realise that I'll get heavily abused for this but for the first time yesterday I actually felt that the end for Sandi was on the horizon.

I think next year will be our last chance to see Sandi as a really top line dominating ruckman and I get the feeling his retirement will come up on him really quickly after that.

I hope I'm wrong though.

Huge panic call their Scham. He looked pretty damn dominant out there in the little game time he got. He put on a few long chases as well when his midfield stood around and watched. Still got plenty of time.

With Clarke emerging he doesn't need to a really top-line, dominating ruckman for the entire game. I expect to see him improve and take it up a notch..... certainly if he can lurk forward for 2 goals a game when not fully match fit.

still think if we are going to play both one who isn't first ruck needs to be at full forward and spend 75% there and kick at least a goal a game.

If anything I'd say it will be the opposite for Sandi. We finally have two players (Clarke, Griffen) who can back Sandi up. We should see Sandi playing less in the ruck, and more time up forward. Will do his body the world of favours

Kinda sums up the work ethic of our midfield at the moment.

Yep Clarke emerging as a genuine ruck can only prolong sandi's career.

has anyone done an analysis on the correlation between sandi's winning hitouts and the team winning clearances??

Same for all rucks. But that only says so much, hypothetically if your midfield is not up to scratch its not going to matter.

Its also what they add around the ground.

Of course if they do play Sandi and Clarke as dual ruckmen / rover, Griffen will leave. Clearly he expects to be in the team with Sandi each week. Problem is, Clarke gives attributes that a traditional ruckman doesn't.

Yep I can't see griffo wanting to be stuck in the WAFL,because that is the reality now.He would be the number 1 or 2 ruck at GWS next year & probably on heap more cash.

Scham could be right. Sandi has had a lot of problems with his feet. Someone of his height and weight may not be able to play AFL for a long time. In the NBA players Sandis size can come to the end of their career very quickly.

What NBA players are you talking about? Most good centres in the NBA last well into their mid 30's.
