Researchers at Flinders University in SA are looking for footy fans to volunteer for interviews and focus groups as part of a research project about SA Footy Fan Culture. They are interested in your thoughts about the role of alcohol in SANFL footy culture - but you don't have to be a drinker to participate!

For more information about the study, what's involved and how to volunteer, phone research fellow Kirrilly Thompson on 8204 6329, or
visit: http://som.flinders.edu.au/FUSA/PublicHealth/footy.htm

It doesn't appear that the survey will be conducted in the country.
City folks only!

I think alcohol played a big part in making some big SANFL legends off the field. I certainly hope it was a part of Ralph Sewer's antics when he was lost at the bay.

Dear Dogwatcher,

If you'd like to be involved but your not within a reasonable driving distance from the city, we'd be happy to do a phone interview with you. The project has been designed with a focus on SANFL teams and is funded accordingly. This is why we don't have a strong regional focus - but I'll keep it in mind for future studies. Nevertheless, we'd love to hear from SANFL fans, regardless of where they live so give us a call or email and we can make a time to do a phone interview!

Please note that each volunteer who takes part in an interview or focus group for the Culture of Alcohol in Australian Rules Football Project will be given one entry in a prize draw to win one 2006 Category 1 SANFL AAMI Stadium Membership, including the cost of a new membership joining fee.

Did you get the phone number Tentous? If not I may be able to help you out...

Since my original post about the CAARF project, we have included a prize draw for all those who participate in the research.

Each volunteer who takes part in an interview or focus group for the Culture of Alcohol in Australian Rules Football Project will be given one entry in a prize draw to win one 2006 Category 1 SANFL AAMI Stadium membership, including the cost of a new membership joining fee.
