The Native American Indians use it as medicine.

I just think it tastes great.

My friends hate it, quoting that it tastes and smells like medicine (duh)

Does anyone else drink it?

I hear it is a great mixer, but i don't normally have any on me when im drinking!!
 
I love it. Its kinda a mix between coke and Dr Pepper.

I dont drink a lot of soft drink, I prefer juices, milk and alcohol but if I have anything itd be sars.

yeah, I don't mind that stuff...in small doses though, probably only drink it twice a year...
 
Portello is readily available in Melbourne. What's it taste like? Since trying sars and hating it, I'm no longer game to experiment with dark fizzy liquids (that do not contain alcohol).

I prefer Sars but Portello is alrite, It tastes like rasberry/coke. I think Tarax still produce it. They should sell it at your local Coles or Safeway.

Yes I totally love the stuff, but not a lot of shops sell it, most people I know say it tastes like flyspray, philistines,:mad:

I love Portello!!!!!! Sly ... it's a wog thing. Grew up in Qld ... and i tell ya ... apart from a few retirees ... there aint too many wogs!! :D

No wogs = no Portello!!

But if you can't buy it Sly ... make your own. Mix coke with raspberry! Too easy! :)

Portello yum, you can't buy that in Perth, I have tried mixing it, but it is hard to get the mix right. :(
 
sarsss... not really a fan of that soft-drink...

my aunt buys alot of it... does a lovely beef dish (stew/casserole) type thing using sars to marinate the beef... just lovely ~

Several people make it (Tarax the main one) but the shops seem to have MON Sars & Portello & Ginger Beer at the moment.

Made in Euchca i believe!

Huh??? :confused:

Dr Pepper is foul! I hate anything Cherry flavoured.

I had a pack of Life Savers the other day (for the first time since the '80's) and was stunned to find that the red ones no longer had a cherry flavour but was now raspberry! Good move.

Sars is great, but only in moderation (ie. bi-annually).
