Just thought i would have a look at this site apparently set up by loyal Essendon people. Just another pathetic internet petition. I was naive to think they may have included the option for members to support the boards decision. To think these people want to overthrow our board. Ridiculous. Why are the people behind this so cowardly they won't reveal their names? Do they honestly think that we would replace our current board with these faceless muckrakers?

I agree - they will do much more damage than good. Pathetic.
 
There was no way Kevin Sheedy was ever going to be reinstated, no matter how many people they got.

As if they board would put him back in, and as if Sheeds would even want to come back.

The media backlash if the board was overthrown would be very damaging to the club in my opinion

If somehow they got 51% of members behind them, they would get Sheedy back.

Beginning, middle, end of story.

Bit silly of you to have posted the site name here btw Bossco, if your against the concept of an EGM. You just helped advertise it.

Sheeds' era is over.. they won't get 51%. It's as simple as that. Let's move on and win a premiership for Sheeds' swansong and enjoy what could possibly happen with a new coach.

By time it comes up for a vote Kevin will be appointed somewhere else. You are aware of the time frame involved in setting this up ?. It isnt just a matter of calling an EGM and voting. For a start members have to be given a 2 month period to judge all candidates.
Personally i think the site looks very much like amatuer hour at the moment. Lets face it my nephew in primary scholl could have build a more inviting website. No names of who is behind it. No names of potnetial canditdates. Surely if it is to be taken seriously people would be willing to put their names on the sight. So far it looks like anyone could be running it.
Talk is cheap , time to see some action.
 
I'm not signing that! What? To de-stabalise our club? No way! We're not rich for nothing!! Our 'wealth' is not all down to Sheedy. Our board made a very tough and 'unpopular' decision, and i commend them for making that decision. They have the best interests of the Essendon Football Club at heart and i am backing them!

A decision has been made and all supporters should stick together.

Sheeds, was a great coach and one of the longest serving, but at the end of the day, or century, he will be known as just one of many.

I love Sheeds as much as any of our supporters, but it isn't worth the creation of divisions within the supporter base.

Disagree. He will be known as the greatest coach of Essendon ever and rightly so. That's enough for me to accept this decision and these people should too. Sheeds will never be forgotten.

People like Minglis just don't understand. If we didn't let sheed go he would still be coaching from his grave in 30-35 years. Just stupid people that think the club was invented by sheeds

So if people don't agree with you they should give back their membership, this is not the local school playground, members have the right to complain, that is one reason why they become members (to have a say) so let the members have there say and if you don't like it you give back your membership.

I'm not signing the petition either, because it's stupid. Sheedy and Windy Hill are parting ways, in bizarre fashion, and that's that.

But anyone who suggests that it is somehow disloyal to think and act critically when it comes to the decisions of the Board -- and worse, argues that critical thought could "destabilise the club" -- is a panderer. You have no faith in the towering strength of, and the passions behind, this football club. That to me is a far worse infidelity.

The Essendon BigFooty board is increasingly becoming the domain of cowering Horsburgh yes-men. For what? The club is made of sterner stuff than they pretend.

People can disagree with me all they want, they're entitled to their opinion. The same way I'm entitled to my opinion that they're ****wits who are a disgrace to the Essendon Football Club and are in no way true supporters. I've missed about 4 Melbourne based games in the last 5 years, and in that time we have gone NOWHERE. I love Sheeds, but his time is up.

Nothing wrong with a supporter bringing up more trash created by mindless individuals who think they can overthrow a painstakingly decision made by a board who thinks we need a new direction. Ive had a look at it and think its comical at best. No harm done.
 
Cant see it have any effect on the board. They've made a statement with their decision, lets not kid ourselves.
