Was wondering if anyone knew when/if it was coming out in Aus and if so if it was being edited to get an MA rating?????
(assuming it is rated R over there)
Got a descent revue on gamespot but a fan of the series so cant wait to step back into a proper survival horror game!!!

It got rated M over there and MA here.

Gameplay looks a bit bland, repetitive and boring. I'm certainly avoiding this one. I don't see how it will be overly long either.

I love Saw and even though I thought the 5th took the movie in the wrong direction I'll be seeing the 6th and most likely be getting the game on an EB 1 week 'rental' as I have to see what this is like. Gameplay really won't mean a lot to me for this one as I'm gonna be playing this for the story, extra bits and just to see the creativity given to this genre.

The movie's haven't been rated above an MA15+ so far despite no doubt toeing the line on what is and isn't an R18+ movie. If anything I would expect the game to be a little less violent so wouldn't have worried about the rating.

IGN didn't think it was too bad and I would agree with what I've seen so far. Looks a solid 7/10 game.

Gotta agree, should be a solid return to survival horror genre. Gamespot reckons the puzzles and challengers are a real treat and that it is a really eerie/freaky saw 2 like game.
Only getting an M confuses me and makes me think any traps that go wrong(coz lets be honest thas what we really wanna see) will look really bland or even cut away.....

Perhaps. But as I edited in the movies never went above MA15+ (And while I know movie and game ratings are different) I can't really see why this would be too different.

Oh yes, there will be blood.:D

Two months after the yanks and two months after the 6th movie.
Aussie gamers get screwed over again....
Yeah, I don't get it either.

I could understand if they were holding off because of the influx of games right now. But they've released it in the States, no reason it shouldn't be here right now.

Played the pc version
Its good and the story line is pretty faithful to the series its a new story though not playing parts from the movies.

Very repetitve an boring imo im halfway through an just so sick of doing the same thing for each mission.
There is also no autosave feature just autosaves at certain points in missions.
So can get very frustrating having to redo everything again from last save point especially when u only died for not paying enough attention for traps.

If you like the movies you will like the games story.
Actual playing of the gaem you will probably find abit too boring an repetitive.

Started this when I got back (after buying it for $25 in the US) and it's been pretty good so far. I'm not that far into it yet
have just met Amanda
but it's pretty much how you would expect a Saw game to work and it's a fair effort from the devs to have done so well as it really could've been a huge **** up of the likes of the recent Prisonbreak game.

Basically when you think of how a Saw video game would work you'd think, it'd have to have some violence obviously, puzzles/mini-games to match the traps, have it be scary and have plenty of twists and turns and so far it has done just that. The puzzles are pretty good, some smart ones in there so far, but not impossible to figure out. The combat is a bit average, but isn't used much so it's not really an issue. The only thing I'm finding a bit average at times is the audio, seems to be a lot of archive stuff used from time to time, there's a TON of re-used audio and the voices of Tapp and some other characters aren't of that which were in the Saw movie (apart from Jigsaw, but it doesn't even really sound that much like Tobin Bell as it is).

However, as far as I'm in, I am still enjoying it. And now with the sequel announced early last month I can look forward to that later this year.

**POTENTIAL SPOILER FOR SAW VII BELOW**

It's also a nice Saw fix until we get the movie later this year with the biggest and best revelation coming in Cary Elwes being back FINALLY!:D:thumbsu::D

SAW 2: THE VIDEOGAME EARLY HANDS-ON
Whether you liked the original Saw game like IGN's David Clayman, or you were disappointed with it like I was, Saw II is coming. While it's been scarcely six months since the original was released, Konami's determined to give fans of the franchise more of Jigsaw's diabolical world to explore. The biggest questions I had going into the brief demo I played, though? Would the developer work out the flaws of the original, creating an experience that is actually horrific and, more importantly, fun?
