You know you're over the hill when you realise you'd have a crap time if you went to schoolies, because hanging out with a bunch of young partiers getting ****ed doesn't sound that cool anymore.
I'm going to Rye with my mates for 10 days on the 6th December can't wait

It's a pity the cops are starting to crack down on the schoolies with increased patrols and stuff. Makes me feel so great that i went in the times before all that and managed to cause my havoc, which probably led to the increased crackdown!
I went to Wilson's Prom for Schoolies (in 2001) and had heaps of fun.

Was in Egypt last year for work, the company had the choice of leaving us in Cario for 3 days, or sending us to Suez City. Well they sent us to Suez City for 3 days, which has 2 hotels of a 3 star or higher standard, and only 1 of them sold beer.............and it wasnt the one we got put in!!!

Seeing as I live/went to school on the Gold Coast, it was an easy decision to spend Schoolies Week 2002 in Surfers. Don't listen to the bad publicity. Saw no trouble the whole time and had a great time.
6 mates and I got an apartment.
We all agree that it was more fun looking back on it than in actually was being there. As in, when we were there, it didn't seem that great but on reflection we had a great time and we find ourselves envious of the Year 12's this year that are about to have it. You are on such a high from finishing school,
A leaving school high + alcohol + some occasional narcotics =
The nights were fun, but the days dragged on. In the days, You find youself nursing hangovers (that still doesn't stop you from drinking), sleeping on the beach or by the pool, subscribing to sh*thouse soft-core in-room pr0n, watching crap day TV and just waiting for the sun to go down so you can do it all over again.
Advice to people about to go on schoolies: TAKE A CAMERA. You end up with some great shots, as well as many shots where you say "I don't remember that" and "who is that standing next to me that I have my arm around". And that happens many times. We have this great shot where one of my mates stood on the bed and took a birds-eye view photo of the room. This was on nite where we invited a "few people" round for drinks. In the photo, we have counted about 31 people in the room. Around 20 of the people none of us can even know or can recognise. . The only reason we didn't get evicted for noise and too many people in the room at a given time was the fact we bribed the security bloke with booze. Good times.

While i caused some havoc back then, none of those things were done by me and i never had intention of doing so. We even told the girls from our school to be careful.

You should get a group of friends together and do something. You will look back on it as one of the best times you will ever have. At the time, you don't realise the care free fun you could have, being on such a high after finishing school.
I wasn't implying that. I was just stating that a lot of that **** goes down when hundreds of young people converge on one place. It's mainly the older guys looking to get some action from drunken teenage girls.
As a chick, I would feel a hell of a lot safer with cops around.
I'm so glad I went to the last schoolies in SA before the police decided to go haywire. A warning to Souf Aussies: don't drive, there's gonna be RBTs all over the place this year... pay $20 for the buses, or walk.
Actually, the best place of getting from place to place is drinking yourself blind... you wake up and you have NFI how you got there
