Is the decision to drop Schultz - as much as it is justified given his poor performance last week - a tad hasty given that he is quick on the lead and may expose Mal Michael who prefers to play from behind?

I recall Jay kicking a bag on Michael up at the Gabba a few years back too. Or will Wallace try to expose this with the selection of Kingsley, despite the fact that he is smaller and no good in contested situations? At least Jay can crash a pack when required?

Any thoughts?

I think shultz would be a better option than kk, but it would send the wrong message to the other boys if he didn't get dropped.
If he can play well in the magoos then let him come back that way

i dont think all that much of mal michael considering he was going to play for Nilma Darnum in the Ellinbank League this year for $90,000. man we need a salary cap. but i would of kept Jay in as he would at least go close to matching him on the height department. Could Riewoldt play on him? Or is it too big of an ask for a debutant?

Whether it is Richo & Jack or KK & Jack on Saturday I still reckon we are one tall forward too short (sic) I rememver against the Crows in the third qtr we just couldt find a target at CHF and I was chucking my popcorn saying "where the hell is Hughes or someone like that!" We could not get it over the centre... against the Dons tall backline on what shoud be a clear night I think unless Richo (or KK) & Jack have blinders, we are not going to have enough effective inside 50's!

i thought this week would have been the perfect opportunity to play cleve, jay and jack all in the forward line and see how the chemistry was. Very disappointed that we will only see one of those guys play

i have a feeling jay is still carrying a bit of an injury after his corky against geelong - i mean he must??

with richo out (our leading goal kicker) he is our next highest goal kicker this season - dropping him purely due to form would basically mean we are letting essendon play us WITHOUT our two top scorers -

i would have gone with jay, jack, cleve on the ground and kent on the bench. play krak, petts and meyer around them.

If w lose this week because we cant create enough goals, i'm blaming you for this one wallace - trying to con us into thinking richo will play is such horse shit - why bother?

I agree with your thoughts. But I wouldn't blame anyone for the loss until the game has been played. Wallace must feel compelled to feint the Richo selection given his form against the Dons last year.

I have never been a parochial fan of Richardson as I have made mention on this board before, but match-ups are crucial in the modern game (hence the post about Schultz on Michael) and the Bombers had no answer for Richo last year and may struggle this year although expect Fletcher and Ryder to drop back at every occasion. Imperative we get the ball inside 50 quickly or dish it off to guys who can go the journey.

We will be much quicker across the field than Essendon but alas that was the case against Collingwood and Carlton - two matches history records we lost.
