It seemed like a changing of the guard tonight, i was calling out "shulzy" everytime it went down forward instead of "richo"... and i feel more comfortable with him having a shot than richo..

Richo missing that goal after schulz went off, was disgraceful... those are the goals a player of his calbre should convert everytime!

i reckon if he had have kicked that, we would have ran on with it..

Very Happy with Jay tonight:
- Double figures in possesions (12)
- A bit more pressure (3 tackles)
- 5 scoring shots (would have had 6)
- Played more then a quater of footy

I thought he (along with Tambling) was very good.

Has a presence about him and looks like a FF.

I was actually very disappointed with the coach in regards to Schultz last night. If he was isolated with the forward 50 he would have kicked at least 6.

Our forward line is far to richo concious even when we have a match up that is going to be more profitable. I cannot remember a time when another key forward has kicked a bag when richo is playing. He does get in the way some times instead of creating space for others.

Our forward line is generally far too crowded. Was great to see the space fevola had in the second half today.

Richo is shocking. Should be CHF and not lining up for 8 goals a game. He is so good when kicking straight, but when he misses 80% of his shots, he looks shithouse.

Schulz FF, Richo CHF. No room for both.

Will be intersting to see how life is post-Richo.

FF: Schultz
CHF: Rewoldt
HFF: Hughes

With the like of Polak, Thusty and McGaune spine is looking promising.

do you reckon hughes can play the ash hansen hit up role?

all those guys have great kicks so finally we are going to see a bit of consistency and not just be a circus like when richo plays

fullback and quality young ruck are still nowhere to be seen

That's the way he played juniors, that is why we recruited him, and that is what we want him to do. That is part of the reason he has been left at Coburg - to try to develop him into this player instead of having him a stationary target in the forward 50.

As to whether he can do it? No evidence yet that he has a tenth of the talent he needs to step up. He is a lazy pea-heart who struggles for Coburg.

Can't get 'em all at once. We get to use our number 1 draft pick this year on Matt Kreuzer who will be a top-notch ruck/forward. So that plugs a couple of holes in one hit.

dont be silly weaver. you have a fair inkling just like i do on what type terry will take with our first pick. im betting its a skinny quick hbf type.

Who at this stage are the players looking like they may go no.1 pick apart from Kreuzer??

Just wondering if their was a gun Midfielder and we might hope one of the other quality rucks fall to our priority pick at 17.

That's they type of player Hughes is, a tall HFFish Hansen type. Good on the lead, leading to the wing.

You don't see either McGaune or Thusty as a future FB?

no

anyone who thinks fullbacks dont matter just needs to look at tom hawkins who will eat teams up if they keep drafting tall pencils instead of defenders to play on the big forwards
