About as surprising as Krejza going for 0/199 in the tour match in India.

Did they test for this stuff at the olympics? I know they did at the worlds where a few high profile riders skipped.

Maybe if the first offense is a life time ban. Then they won't take drugs.

Exactly - being able to compete in an elite sport, be a household name and be able to negotiate for multi-million dollar contracts is a privilege, not a right. Privileges should be removed and not returned when such an act of dishonesty and betrayal is committed.

According to cyclingnews UCI are going to extend the ban to 4 years next year, interesting to see if the amount of positive tests goes down or not. I guess there still is the temptation for someone coming to the end of their career to dope, but hopefully it acts as a deterrent to 28, 29 year old guys from doping.

it wont make a difference. The supposedly punitive penalty, making riders pay a fine equivalent to one year's salary never made a difference did it. Its cycling, risk reward is still in favour of the dopers.

Armstrong is coming back right? Should tell you everything. Some things never change.
