i mentioned something about it in another thread and i go this from an article on the afl site.
AS he slogged up a hill in the Grampians this week, ''The Ox'' knew he would receive no sympathy from his teammates if he told them the pain in his legs had spread to his stomach.
David Schwarz, 29, has been an AFL footballer long enough to realise pain is a by-product of preseason training and all he would receive would be ridicule.
He persisted and went on hurting, telling some club officials on Wednesday he was feeling ordinary and the pain in the mid-section was persisting.
The next day Schwarz, a major factor in Melbourne's attack plans next season, was in hospital having his appendix removed and being sent all the best wishes he could handle from the Demons during their sea-and-land training session yesterday.
Assistant coach Chris Fagan said the operation had been a success and that Schwarz would be home this weekend and back on light duties soon.
