If he can get this group to play with one tenth of the intensity he played with it will be a huge improvement.
He was manic on the footy field

absolutely awe inspiring interview for mine. the guy is the perfect compliment to Buckley imo. brains. really excited about next year. reckon Pendles will go up a level under the Burns influence.

Got to love that he seems so excited to be back at the club and working with the likes of Bucks, Harvey and Eade.

Perfect timing too with so many young midfielders needing his type of tutelage to make their potential into reality.

Thanks for not selecting him as senior coach West Coast.:thumbsu:

Burns coming back feels right on so many levels. Of note in the interview is his honesty about returning, that it is about his career too, but he sees the Pies as the place to be to move his own career forward. He is obviously hungry for success, and we are where he expects that to happen. His impressions of the club, after being absent for a few years, are also interesting: better facilities, more coaches, more personnel generally, and a culture that demands excellence. No pining for MM going on there.

And then there is Burnsy himself. Was there ever a more selfless player for us, body on the line week in and week out? Accounts are that he is a good teacher too. How good can the likes of Beams and Adams become under him?

I loved the bit where he was talking about the obvious changes.

First time around I heard "No BS" :P :thumbsu:

I replayed it again a few times and realised he was really saying "No VIS" :(

What I got from it that he still very much wants to be a Head Coach.

“There’s quite a bit of intellectual property there where I can talk to them and maybe form one or two new ideas in my head about the way the game should be played or how you deal with players, or it may clarify or make it more solid in terms of my philosophies on football.

That sounds a bit like When Bucks started as Head Coach

Great for players like Adams and Freeman to learn of someone like Burnsy

Perfect compliment to Bucks and can't help but be a positive all through the ranks with his no-nonsense style as well as what he brings from his five years somewhere else.
Hard to explain how glad I am to see him back, having been my favourite player from when he was still playing in the two's.
Booyah!! :D
