Scott Lucas 2nd Efforts

Don't exist. i'm going to get a few complaints on here after this saying get off lucas' back, i'm not going to say another word on this thread until after next weeks game but i want you to have an honest opinion of lucas' 2nd efforts on saturday night (sydney game) has anyone ever watched him try to "chase" someone. He puts his head down and pretends. its truly embarrasing. like i said just watch on saturday and without having a biased opinion tell me what you think of his 2nd efforts.

Hope you point out where he is alway in front leading to the ball all game. Or the second leads he puts in. He can be a bit greedy at times but to say he doesnt try is B.S.
Oh and by the way the reason he doesnt catch anyone when he chase's is becasue he is not fast enough, he is simply a slow runner ;)
 
ok i'm eating my own words here but this is going to be the last thing i write on this. just to clear up yes he is a slow runner but he is a hell of a lot faster when the ball is in the goal square on its own and its a foot race between him and his opponent than he is chasing somebody.

He works bloody hard. Often when he chases it's after he's had to lead so you'd expect him to be a bit tired after sprinting. Has the odd quiet game but he is one of our best players and has been for a long time now.

I think he let himself down with his kicking last night but still was one of our best. Can't believe he's copping it for that performance.

I was very dissapointed with him last night. He didn't lead when we needed an option and was constantly playing behind his man.

Do you need glass's as well. 22 kicks 17 marks and 7 inside 50's (equal best with Hird) and he was behind his man all night and didnt give us options:eek: . Not sure exactly what game you guys are watching. The only real problem he has is he is too greedy at times but if he can keep producing 15 plus marks and 3 goals every week from CHF i am more than happy to take it.;)

could not agree more he is lazy{does not chase} does not pass the ball, 70 out tries to kick goals, no right foot. :thumbsd:
 
Can we please have these people banned.... If it wasn't for him, Carlton would not have received their 3rd spoon in 5 seasons... He probably isn't the best chaser, but he is not the only KP forward that does not chase. I am sick of Essendon fans getting into Scott, he is a superb footballer and a wonderful servant of our club, and it is about time he got the recognition he deserves.
 
I actually wen't to the match on Saturday night and thought he was shocking, eventhough his stats say he played a good match, I have never seen a player so selfish, he just would not pass the ball or do the team things, kept going for goal everytime outside 50 instead of looking for players running free inside the 50.

He is told to do that mate. He is there to kick goals, he is averaging 3.1 per game, and kicked 67 goals last season.

Mustn't have watched Buddy Franklin play much then.

I agree that he should have maybe given off a couple of handballs instead of having a shot - but he is never going to run down opponents like Davey, he looks lethargic chasing, but that's Scotty Lucas. Lucas has been a great player for the club & you take the good with the bad.
He is in credit in my book!

He is told to kick goals from 60 or 70 metres out, when there are other players in better positions. :eek:

I never questioned that he was a good player, but from a neutral perspective i thought he was rat sh*t on sat night.

seriously you and casey should have restrictiosn on yoru account so that you cant post... you know why he tries to kick goals from 70 out? because most of the time he kicks a goal from there.... im sure if you have your stats up over his career of goals above 55 metres out he would get more then he misses.. that is his strength, long range accurate kicking, every player should play to his strength and thats lucas. i would want him to kick at goal whenever he is within kicking distance why you ask? because he is definately in the top 5 shots at goal in the game if not the top goal kicking player in the game... everyones forgetting that the defensive aspect of the game has changed a hell of a lot over the past few years. now defenders are often very quick with strong evasive skills because they need to rebound and create play. lucas cant run down quick players because he is a tall forward.. its nothing to do with being lazy its to do with not being fast enough off the mark.

Bottom Line: Without Lucas we would be a far inferior side.
 
Fact. Some people are satisfied with mediocrity
The Bombers are a good side that just need a little bit of a shake up to be a very good one. and that means someone like Lucas needs a wake up call , He could be something special but seems to be lazy and wont put in that little extra.
