I've booked tickets and flights to attend the West Coast game. Is this still a chance to be the record breaker?
I reckon this will be the game the club is aiming for

Essendon - Game 431
Hawthorn - Rest - 5 day break
Geelong - Game 432 - Equals the record
Sydney - Rest - 6 day break and interstate trip
West Coast - Game 433 - Record breaking game in front of 80k Pies fans at the G

Makes the most sense.

The Eagles match is a home game at the MCG, which will maximise the number of Collingwood supporters who can attend and the home game festivities can be dictated on our own terms.

Can't wait to see him break the record.

I wouldn't put it past club marketing/bean counters getting their way, but I struggle to believe they will f*ck with selection enough to rest him in 2/3 games with the season still alive.

Yes, there's a 5 day break between Essendon and Hawthorn but there will have been a 9 day break since the Carlton game and then 9 days again between Hawthorn and Geelong.

I think they will just play him vs Hawks on reduced minutes and cop him breaking the record at a Geelong home game.

Maybe, and I agree that they won't mess with selection but it may have been a strategy from the beginning of the year to plan Pendles' games / game time from day one. I think it makes sense that he misses games but the question is, if this is his last year, does he want to run out on Anzac Day one last time and then perhaps miss Hawks.

That's what I'd bet on.

I hope selection isn’t based on accomodating this record milestone, I would prefer it be a home game but if the stars don’t align, it is what it is.
