The classic was when we were all waiting for Bucks to re-sign and eventually Michael Felgate announces that he has resigned. I think there was another journo who ran with the blooper too.
Much like blokes dealing with supporters named "Clint" shouldn't write their name in capitals when signing autographs for them..

No no, I wasn't trying to give an opinion.

Each year around finals time, the stat is always discussed and if I recall correctly, the last time the stat was shown, those were the top 3 I think. But I could be wrong. This was some time ago.
It's by that Champion Data Ratings points rubbish - and even if it was a reliable rating I don't think it's been around long enough to include a fair few Pendles finals.

I believe the highest rated finals players are Dusty, Swanny and Crisp.

But I stand to be corrected there
Must have missed Dusty’s career in black and white.

Oh lol, watch the outrage this will get from the media and opposition supporters. Now they’ll go on about this, Pendles being rested and how many games he’s played at the MCG, when it should be a celebration.

Anyway I guess it’s a little off brand, but this might be a once in a lifetime game for the club, so I’m fine with them milking the whole occasion as much as possible. Looking forward to Pendles keychain merch.

Just an opinion, but hope he doesnt, its tacky, its gold coast style from 1980 s. But if the great man is happy

I know that's just a mockup, but that looks stupid

Compromising selection to rest him for two games to manufacture a home game marketing opportunity is already a joke. And now this tacky bullsh*t will negatively affect his public image just days after it has probably never been better.

Also, did nobody at the club stop to think about why putting gold over a Collingwood jumper may be a particularly poor choice given who popularised doing that?

You can celebrate an individual achievement while still acting like team-oriented professional football club. This is carny sh*t.

Maybe contact the club and suggest they rethink it?

Once in a lifetime? But he breaks it again the next week! And the next week... and the next week haha.

Felgate would barely have been born at that stage
The journo in question was a Sydney based host on Sports Tonight. Tim Webster

I thought this was a piss take, this is not actually happening is it?
This seems like such a non Pendles thing to do. I understand why some supporters would buy a guernsey with a gold 10 on it to commemorate his record, but it just doesn't seem like something Pendles would want.

Loathe it. Reeks of the club grossly commodifying the celebration, and it looks like dogshit. Very “me me me”, which goes against the entirety of his career. Whichever marketing wiz pursued this is a campaigner

Non pendles to try to move some extra merch?

He's not afraid to spruik wine, coffee, coffee machines, holiday resorts, just to name a few. I'd say it's exactly on brand to get a new different jumper on the market.

I'm specifically referring to him wearing a guernsey with a gold 10 on the back during the match.

By all means make money out of selling such a guernsey so supporters can wear them.

A lot more will sell because he wears it. Don't think Pendles was dragged kicking and screaming into this. He loves a dollar - and so he should!
