Sometimes our marketing team gets it wrong.

The OTT 2023 GF cinema release and then the handling of this event hasn't been brilliant.

It would be nice if the club didn't look for ways to monetise everything.

I agree most of the decent shows go on streaming platforms now so it was worth a trip to the cinema to see something quite stirring IMO on the silver screen watching with likeminded people who acted like barrackers when all that exciting footage came up leading into the Grand final. What is not to like about people cheering great tackles and marks and goals? And we got access to footage we had never seen before. Fact is, we were able to fill cinemas.

The fact is though any Carlton or Essendon fan would love to have that opportunity we got at the start of 2024. Unfortunately for them that means winning a Grand Final and in Essendon’s case a final.
