I wish I had IQ :(

Don't worry mate, you do have IQ, it's just not very high...

And just fyi, Crohn's Disease is an inflammatory condition affecting predominantly the intestines, large or small, and down to the rectum and anus. It does not just target the parts as indicated by yourself and rarely involves the stomach. :p
Trust me, I'm a Dr.....

Thornton is certainly an inflammatory player - but that's cause he's a dud. Nice explanation of Chron's though - good to see those med textbooks getting dusted off and put to good use...

So what happens if somebody kicks Thornton up the arse?

Ahahahahah!!! :D:D Now we know why he can't ever be coached to improve - a kick up the backside really would be too painful for him!

(BTW - where do you get your material from Alfonzie - it's some seriously funny stuff, which is what we need in these dark days of defeat...)

if you were a doctor then you should know the intestines are housed inside the stomach....where do you think the intestines actually are? would have thought even a garbologist would know the intestines are located in the stomach...

No, the stomach and the intestines are separate organs. 3 separate organs, in fact. And lay off the personal abuse, champ.

i had just described the condition as inflammation in the intestine so not sure what your point is really? mine is more specific to the small intestine on my lower right side. my specialist informs me that this is the most common area for the ailment.

if you are indeed a doctor our public health system is a worry if you're saying the intestines are not located in the stomach region...most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. where do you think they are? in your legs, arms, head?[/quote]

My dear friend...let me enlighten you about some pretty basic stuff.

The stomach is a specific organ which joins the end of your food pipe to the beginning of your small bowel. Are you with me so far..I'm trying to keep it simple

You then have 3 parts to the small bowel, including that bit that you say is affected by CD, and then you have the large bowel, rectum and anus...hope I haven't lost you yet

What you have done, is what many lay people do and call everything between your mouth and your arse "the Stomach". This is not correct..see above, and should be termed the abdomen or abdominal cavity

As for your brain... now that really may be up your arse!!

BTW thanks for the support BPG

I don't get it. A player gets a cheap shot in the guts and we have a moron trying to practically 'blame' it on the injured player.

If you make the decision to punch a player on field then you deserve to miss some football. Whether the player is more 'susceptible' to it has no bearing on the argument whatsoever.

Poor form.

yes i did generalise the stomach which as you point out lay people refer to as everything below the ribs.. ok then if we want to be specific mcphee hit him to the abdomen then.

as for you, you are extremely rude and insulting for a doctor. appear to have some complex that everyone is inferior to you...probably should be barracking for carlton!

and i'm not blaming it on the injured player - i'm suggesting the penalty (2 weeks) is too harsh for the crime.

common sense prevailed in the end with the sentence reduced from 2 weeks to 1 week. a clean sheet player would have got off with a reprimand but because he had priors then the 1 week is fair enough. i'll move on.

good luck this week - you should beat the crows minus bock, hentschel, knights etc. i hope harvey swings the axe and gives some new recruits a go - i think we all want to see better skilled players out on the field.

Garbage. A thug with a record as a repeat offender got off. At least his carryover points mean he'll miss two games when he loses his rag next time (I mean seriously, punching a third rate player like Thornton, off the ball, behind the play, in the first quarter - what a frickin nong!! If you're going to get rubbed out, at least belt someone worth smacking, like Pav, or Elvis, Sandi, or Schammer. Oh, wait, those blokes might hit you back. Oh, OK , that explains why a gutless Essendon knobhead would smack thornton behind the play.

Knobend.

So why does your side keep picking hacks like Laycock and McPhee?? Bugger off back to your own board, scum. And by f *ck I hope Carlton tear you a new one, schoolboy wannabe.

what he said :p

Can you guys confirm that Thornton has the medical disorder Crohn's disease? fairly certain i've heard that before.

Given the incident with McPhee was a light blow to the stomach and crohn's disease is specific to that region (the intestines etc) one could only presume Thornton would be more susceptible/sensitive to a blow to this area making the contact appear worse than what it was. eg if mcphee had struck pavlich there he would have got up straight away but due to it being thornton it touched a sensitive spot with mcphee having no knowledge of thornton's problem.

So playing AFL and WAFL football with this condition must mean he goes down like a bag-of-shit quite often...hmmm, haven't seen it myself.

Commonsense at the tribunal, I don't think so.

Rack off you whiney pillock!

Watch Souths much, goes down like a bag of shit very often.

Tha fact that he cant complete a proper weights program for fear of shitting himself is reason enough to pay him out and send him on his way.
