What they should be arguing for is the abolition of the reverse merit draft. It is a joke. Since all clubs get gifted players regargless or merit why wouldn’t a lottery or a rolling draft be appropriate?

It's being done next year, priority picks will be given on two yearly results, and even then I think we'd be a contender for them, with two bottom 4 finishes in a row.

Phew dodged a bullet!, Now all we need to do is win another 4 games, don't screw this up and win 5 boys. Two junior guns and an free run at an uncontracted player sounds good to me. Lets target Victorian kids interstate and use the go home factor. Steve Salopek anyone! I'll take another win over the scum and the Bombers but I have to admit I'm worried about the Blues. Their list is much worse than ours, we might just finish above them.

Can confirm that Marc Murphy's dad and John Hook who is working with our recruiting had a long chat at the Chargers game on the weekend. He's a top ten talent and a potential Brisbane father/son, doesn't want to go interstate though.

If we finish bottom and get a priority pick, I think Carlton might aswell, their list is in worse shape than ours. First 4 picks might go like this...
1 Coll Mitchell Clark WA
2 Carl Beau Dowler VIC
3 Coll Marc Murphy VIC
4 Carl Xavier Ellis VIC
Grae Grant from WA is also a midfield possibility, Clark is a CHF. Like most people I don't like where we are but by finishing bottom it opens up all sorts of possibilities and gives you leverage during trade week. I'd Like to get Salopek from Port, emerging midfielder and Port get nothing, but then again Port don't mind getting zilch for their players. The Blue though have the uncanny knack of stuffing us up, they could very well finish bottom.

Another trade possibity Troy Chaplin from Port for Richie. Chaplin's best position is CHB which is blocked by Chad Cornes. I love Wake's but he ain't no spring chicken. He's a Victorian who just might have had enough of Choco.
