At the rate we are going we'll be finished picking our squads by sometime in 2006.

Seriously, I don't see us being able to select a 40 person squad without running into the season. So I propose we limit it at around 30 people.

Anyone in favour?

I think we should just keep going till the satart of the sesaon or the deadline. So we arent cut off at 30 but we dont have to get 40.

I also think we should crack down on people taking to long to pick
like lowering the selection time to 24hrs.

Give it time, we should get enough. After the end of January though, I advise we have a 36hour time slot on each pick, then if they haven't selected, they get the highest ranked player. And if we haven't got enough by season start, we'll play with what we got.

I think we should be OK going along as we are until the end of the month but then if we are still a long way from finished we can submit lists and get a couple of rounds done in one day.

The time limit should definitely be 24 hours though- so that means that everyone needs to check this board at least once a day, especially when your pick is coming up. Everyone should also leave a list of players with someone so you get a player you want if 24 hours is up.

On the whole things have improved so I'd like to give it a few weeks and review how we're going at the end of Jan.

The key is as Waspy says to check the board regularly.

So...

* send a list if you're away from your PC for a couple of days to someone at the other end of the draft order

* check the board at least once a day - better to do it more

* pick a player thompson

With B.Johnson & P.Burgoyne more then likely being able to play midfield aswell, I have alot of versitility. Also Ottens should be able to play Forward I'd expect.

Based on the 36 Hour rule, Thompson should have until 10:24am this morning (Friday 9th Jan) to make his pick.

I'm of the opinion that if he hasn't taken his pick by then he gets the best available player and we move on.

I also think that if we haven't heard from Thompson within the next 24 hours we should boot him. I know a couple of people who are dying to join this league who would take it far more seriously.
