This horse WILL win the melbourne cup. polled a good barrier, had a nice run on derby day, runs very well on a wet track

Well he certainly loves the wet tracks and his win in the Saab was full of fight but not sure if he has the class. Don't think the Saab has been much of a guide in recent times.
Certainly peaking at the right time though and if it keeps raining then his chances go up.

I must say I was really happy for Lisa Cropp when she hit the finish line. You could see how much it meant to her and after all the shit she copped after riding that small filly in the Cox Plate last year.
Great work Lisa.

Will it be a wet track if we don't get any heavy rain? I think the forecasts are for a few showers.

Forecast is for showers tomorrow then sunny on Tuesday.

I imagine the best the track could be is dead and possibly slow but curator says they have excellent drainage now so I guess with a new track we will have to wait and see.
I wouldn't want to be running along the rail that's for sure.
Rail will no doubt be moved out but I reckon horses will be favoured coming down the middle.

I guess we will know more tomorrow.

Hope you're right mate. Had a very small interest at very big odds a couple of weeks back. Complete pot luck- just read it was coming and knew it had some vaguely ok 3200m form.

I agree that class is the issue. Was a bloody tough effort the other day, but you don't see real grinders winning too many M Cups.

The track condition really depends on how much of today's rain hit Flemington. It pissed down in St Kilda today, but apparently there was only 3mm rain in the CBD. In any case, it surely won't be worse than slow.

Incidentally, rail will be out 2 metres down the straight and 3 metres the rest. The can't put it out any further in the straight because it's such a big field.
