Welcome to Season 41, Round 6 of the Sweet FA, brought to you by Sweet FA+.
Loyalty is a word often scoffed at, however it is the essence of what it means to belong to a Qooty Club.
The value of loyalty is that it strengthens the bond between teammates, fosters character and makes players into heroes in the eyes of the fans. The value you bring to your club increases the value of the club tenfold, and perpetuates the viability of the league. You have the opportunity to create a legacy in the annals of your club that mere journeymen could never accomplish. It is no small thing that the record appearance maker for all 13 league members is still on that club’s list.
So let us discuss the merits of each team by measuring the contribution their playing collective has brought to their club so far. We will look at a team by team overview, highlight standout players to watch and predict the score at the final siren according to the numbers from both teams’ current list.
Dragons FFC
A solid unit, firm and unchanging, the Dragons’ list boasts an impressive 178 club games per player, with 18 centurions. These players know how to find each other on a qooty field and restrict the opposition’s scoring chances as much as they can. Picking up a trend among recent flag winners the Dragons prefer to let the qooty do the talking.
The Bye FFC
This club is a paradox – they are unbeaten in every game yet have never won a grand final. They have both the most and least loyal list of them all but their play style leaves something to be desired. Like anything at all. Their stats would skew every other team’s as well as their own so they are excluded from the analysis through no fault and all the fault of their own. They do have a banger of a club song though.
H2H record
DRA 0-0-0 BYE
Somehow there seems to be no sign of The Bye FFC in Sweet FA+’s records.
Last meeting
Dragons FFC were last fixtured against the Bye in season 40, round 15; however the Bye failed to turn up, possibly in an attempt to intimidate their opponents, possibly because they were busy playing ten other teams at the same time. The Dragons refused to back down, though, romping to a perfect finals series in the weeks following.
Players to watch
DRA – Ljp86. The Bowser of BigFooty remains hard to ignore as the most-experienced Sweet FA player of all time. He has dedicated a mind-boggling 604 appearances to the reborn Dragons after three seasons in their previous incarnation, earning a scarcely-credible 36105 DT points in total.
BYE – NULL
Score prediction (based on average goals + behinds per game)
DRA 14.9.93 ?? BYE ??.??.??
Captains, it’s your week off. Enjoy the Bye thread with your respective teams.
