Would like to know peoples thoughts on what i percieve as a good problem to have and thats the injurys we have and getting them back into the side.

I would think that Riewoldt, Gardiner, Hudghton, Hamill, Voss would all be in our best 22 but im finding it hard to decide who would go out of the side.

Going into round 1 i would of said Attard, Blake, Fiora, McQualter would all easily make way but after Fridays game i think all deserve there spot.

What are peoples thoughts?

I'm going to be cautious (or even realistic) about Hamill and leave him out of the picture...

Gardiner will come in for Rix. That is the easy one.

Hudghton replaces Maguire due to injury only.

Attard will also make way. While its early days for him (and I was rapt with his game on Friday), lets assume his role is as a tagger only. Given that, Voss has more to offer at both ends of the ground and can replace him.

Riewoldt in for Blake unless we need him for a specific role such as tagging somebody likes Goodes.

Longer term, one of Fiora or McQualter will be left out and Thompson will feel the squeeze at some point.

Assuming we get all of these guys back and don't lose others, Milne is going to have to step up and deliver, because there are limited places in our forward line and just because we have three quality key forwards doesn't mean we need a crumber...

It would be fitting too, that Armitage make his debut in Queensland.
McQualter would be the likely out in that case.

He had a shocker on Friday, but was clearly working very hard. Don't worry about Milney - he'll settle down and kick 50. Thomas stuffed him up last year by trying to turn him into a midfielder. Lyon won't make that mistake.

Thomas stuffed him up last year by trying to turn him into a midfielder.

I believe Thomas may have saved Milne's career. It was becoming more and more obvious that the team could not afford the luxury of a specialist small forward in the 22. Milne sought advice and together Thomas and Milne set about adding a string or two to Milney's bow. Now that he is more versatile. Milne can be included as the specialist small forward but in a pinch he can be called upon as a small defender, as tagger and even as a midfielder. If he could not perform these duties to at least better than a rudimentary level, he would have been a dinosaur - a relic of the past.

No room for a specialist small forward that kicks avg of 2 goals a game, and could of kicked 50 again last year if he didnt push up the field?

Riewoldt will miss again and Gardiner will have another run for the Scorpions.

It appears that Max will come back into the team and may be celebrating his first game with an appointment with Jonathan Brown.

We'll know the teams tonight but at this stage the only change looks like being Maguire out and Hudghton in.

On the topic of Milne, I think while it's good to have some versatility he's a forward pocket and that's all he is ever going to be. He doesn't need to become a midfielder, he just needs to continue to work on his forward pressure and that's something that Ross Lyon looks to be putting a big emphasis on. Milney will never be a consistent high possession getter and therefore needs to take his chances when they come to him. As that won't always happen at the very least he needs to chase, tackle and work hard to keep the ball in the forward line. He didn't have a great start on Friday night but over the course of the pre-season he has been one of our most consistent performers. Like the others I'm confident he can return to his goalkicking ways.

I hear different...but time will tell

You're right.

Apparently he had a bit of leg soreness and won't play this weekend but will push for selection in rounds 4-5.

It's just refreshing to have a bit of depth in the ruck department. Clarke got off to a good start on Friday night and we've still got Rix and Brooks.
