Collingwood
B: Harry O’Brien, Simon Prestigiacomo, Heath Shaw
HB: Nick Maxwell (c), Tyson Goldsack, Tarkyn Lockyer
C: Alan Toovey, Dayne Beams, Scott Pendlebury
HF: Brad Dick, Travis Cloke, Paul Medhurst
F: Alan Didak, John Anthony, Dale Thomas
Foll: Cameron Wood, Dane Swan, Shane O’Bree
Int: Ben Johnson, Leigh Brown, Leon Davis, Chris Dawes

Em: Jaxson Barham, Ryan Cook, Ben Reid

In: Chris Dawes, Brad Dick
Out: Jaxson Barham, Steele Sidebottom (both omitted)

Didn't think Dick did enough last week in the VFL to warrant selection over McCaffer or Wellingham.

Other then that, correct selection.

And Adelaide's team;

B: Johncock, Rutten, Doughty
HB: van Berlo, Bock, Reilly
C: Mackay, Goodwin, McLeod
HF: Knights, Burton, Vince
F: Porplyzia, Tippett, Walker
R: Maric, Thompson, Edwards
I/C: Shirley, Otten, Stevens, Sellar
Emerg: Griffin, Symes, Douglas

In: Walker, Mackay
Out: Dangerfield (back), Symes

Glad to see Walker included, he has struggled since mid season, and the loss of Dangerfield helps us, with our midfield having better depth now.

strange selection... didn't expect Dick to come back in...

horses for courses i guess... Adelaide's half backs had a field day against us last time.... hopefully Dicks' defensive pressure will help!

I thought that Sidebottom showed some great signs for the future. Despite this, I am not too dissapointed to see him ommitted. We can't have too many first year developing midfielders against a big bodied midfield such as the crows.

It would be good if Dawes can rack up some big stats.

and without 'blamingthe umps' .. if memory serves me right we were TOTALLY towelled up by the umpires last time we played Crows.

I remember it as i was swearing to 'give up watching the footy' after their frustrating ****-ups.

Grouse!

Glad to see Dicky get another shot, he will take it with open arms.

I reckon he'll kick 3-4..

Dawes could be a good in against Adelaide, as they really only have two big backman, one to take Cloke, other Anthony and then we've got Dawes who Stevens might take. Dawes has a fair body weight advantage, so should be able to out-body him a few times during the match.

That really leaves no-one for Medders, Daisy, Leon or Dicky.

Pies by 15-20pts..

dont mind dawes back in , Jack and Clokey arent your stay at home forwards of late. So we have been bombing in to the likes of medders who usually has 3 on him.

Dick also a good selection, lets hope he hits some form again.

Still no frase, eepp. Although must admit was best game ive seen Wood play last week , so im not worried in that sense

I would put Sidey away for the season now, he has a had a taste but lets be honest he is still young and doesnt warrant selection atm.

Our foward line looks much more potent now, Dicky should be ready to go and Dawes has been playing very well in the 2's and played well at AAMI last year

Walker has kicked bags in the last 3 weeks in the SANFL (7,4,3) so has done more than enough to be included. Dangerfield is ably replaced by the often under-rated Mackay. The loss of Symes toughness will need to be picked up by our other tough nuts in Doughty, Thompson and Shirley. Should be a corker!

Dawes is in to stretch the defence and provide a relief in the ruck as Jack & Trav have no idea, Dawes is only marginally better but MM clearly wants a resting forward who can take taps around the ground. We were short last week when Leroy was our key defender.

Dawes was good in the final over there last year as well. Good to see Dick back but disappointed about Sidey.

I am not sure how you watch the reserves for the guys who are going to be promoted because after the Casey game at Sandringham the other week there was no one to come up. I thought Barham would be lucky to stay on the list at year end. But I was wrong again.

Hopefully Marty Clark is back from Ireland and can now concentrate on getting back into the seniors.

I dare say Dicky might be back to put a bit of pressure on McLeod and co running out of defence.

We have now pretty much got our top 22 side (aside from rucks and Dangerfield) with Walker and Mackay coming in this week, so should be an absolute cracker of a game!

I'm liking this side alot hopefully we can come away with a win TBH I'm not sure what to think it is one of those games where I have no idea whether will win or lose

Great inclusions.

Gives us more flexibility and attacking weapons and potency.

Dawes has been very consistent and dominant at VFL level.

Everytime I read the reports, it mentions how he is the dominant big man on the ground for either side.

I also believe that a 3-tall attack functions alot better whether it be Dawes/Pebs/Rus or even Reid for that final spot.

Dicky has been sensational this season. Terrific forward pressure, scoreboard pressure and adds to the rotations too.

I think we are close to full strength. Just need to get Josh and N.Brown back on the park now.

Rus and/or Pebs would be an absolute bonus.

Don't mind those inclusions at all.

I think Dick is a hard player to gauge based on VFL form, as when he was selected earlier this year he came into the side without setting the world on fire in the reserves, yet proved a live wire up forward.

Here's hoping he'll repeat his earlier form on Saturday night; at the very least I think we'll be keeping Adelaide's rebounding defenders a lot more honest this time around.

It'll also be good to have another look at Dawes at senior level, I'm not sold on him yet but I'm hopeful nonetheless.

I like Dawes back in but the inclusion of Dick on the strength of his VFL game mystifies me. He did little in his last few senior games and didn't even line up for the VFL last week. If we are dominating I imagine Dick will go well, but if we are struggling, he may well be a liability. When is Reid going to be given a chance? He has not been beaten at CHB for a long time in the VFL, and N Brown is still out. We looked vulnerable when we lost Presti last week, but at least we have an extra big man this time..

I can see the logic in bringing in Brad Dick. Johncock was Adelaide's best player in the 2nd half, he dominated out the back line. So what do you do to stop Johncock, whack on some Dick.

Very clever.

Johncock has been in scintilating form of late, has had near 30 touches in 3 of his last 5 games, giving us huge run out of defence. Wouldn't underestimate Taylor Walker either, huge young talent, Rising Star nom a couple of months ago. Good luck you blokes but not too much.
