I see that they've finally given up on Heffernan (I don't think he's injured). I always thought this guy could really play but lacked a bit of confidence in himself. Unfortunately though he's been poor for a long time now. I guess this means that he's out of the plans for the finals then as there's nowhere else to regain form.
In my opinion the part of his game that has really fallen away is the tackling. In 2000 he would regularly lead the tackle count. I guess this reflects a drop off in the work he's willing to put in.
On the other hand I like Sam Hunt and am glad he's back. Being a big strong kid he can add a bit of the physical presence we've been missing. If not this year then next year. I'm glad to see Bullen as well. Being in Sydney I don't see anything of the VFL but we certainly have to develop some more midfield options.
