If a player is in a better position,pass it on instead of going for glory and missing.
The Hawks are the absolute masters of this.
We need more than just a Yarran in the forward line.
We need to have crumbers for every defender.
Against Norf,we looked verystagnant up forward when the ball dropped.
Norf defenders ran out from half back like a training drill.
The thing with Rioli is he defends as well as he attacks.

All of our A graders need to be. Dusty always passes it off when he's better off having the shot himself on the run.

Its a fine line between selfless and back yourself in to take the shot, cost us a few times trying to be too "smart" or "cute"

I'll probably cop it for saying this but Jack needs to be a bit more selfish at times IMO.

Took the words right out of my mouth , I reckon we do try and spot up most of the time , we just lack an A grade small to med forward with exception of resting mids

I think Edwards, Lids, and Grigg get it right all the time. Ty makes some strange decisions, giving off ones he should take and taking ones he should give off. I love chimp but honestly I never want to see him kick for goal again unless he is standing on his head. Jack and Dusty should be more selfish.

I get what you mean but I think what we are missing is about having a spread of goal kickers and physically across the ground, leading at the right times and better delivery more than selflessness.

Seems to me a lot of our blokes shy away from taking the responsibility of taking the shot at crucial stages.

Really strongly disagree with the bolded. We are too selfless. As others have mentioned Jack and Dusty especially. Guys like Conca and Edwards are brilliant at being selfless in the forward line and always create goals. Lids probably needs to be more selfish too.

We need to be more selfless around the stoppages, blocking for Cotchin ect... and providing shepherds.

IMO it takes a certain amount of confidence to kick a goal. Ivan can kick a goal. Bachar can kick a goal. Let them. (Cotch is a dead-eye when lying on his back being trampled by a pack. Or when slamming one out of the air).
Sheds runs into an open goal and misses. WTF?

Crumbing forwards have been our problem forever but we seem to recruit them and stick them at HB ever ****ing time !!!
