How is this possible. A so called asylum seeker committing serious sexual assault in Queensland and getting prison time for offences against two women.

He gets parole and is relocated to Victoria where he offends again.

I think the words of a victim are sadly the question we all need to ask.

"There's no consequences for anyone's actions. They need to show people who come here it is a privilege to come here. If you choose to disregard that privilege and rape people in Australia, you don't deserve to be here."

Does anyone keep stats on sexual offences by non Australian Citizens or people born overseas. I believe the percentage would be incredibly high and is it any wonder when the justice system gives them softer sentencing for their cultural understandings and the immigration department simply sends them to another part of Australia. This a prime example of the government putting people at risk.

What are you basing your belief on?

A large portion of sexual assaults are not even reported to the police so this kind of statistical data would be rather meaningless...

I'm not defending any of the actions of the culprit mentioned in the OP, but your post is loaded and has other agendas....

"so called asylum seeker" ? It's a bit rich to make assumptions about a refugee's past and legitimacy based on crimes that they commit post-relocation...

If you are really outraged by sexual assualt in the community, make sure you call out the tradie who wolf-whistles and makes innapropriate remarks when a woman walks past a construction site... It's all part of the bigger picture

My post had other agenda's?. I thought my position was clear enough I don't hide from it. That non citizens convicted of violent/sexual and serious drug trafficking offences be deported upon their release from prison. In fact people within recent immigrant communities are more at risk from rouge elements from within it than anyone else but it has been shown numerous times of criminal elements sucking in other parties from within their community.

When a person has been granted asylum In this country for whatever reason it is beholden upon them to respect the law's that protect the freedem they crave. If they cannot abide by that than they should not be here. I also think if a person has been made a citizen and than is proven to have offended before that time or commence offending in a recidivist manner than they have broken the oath they swore - line 5 whose laws I will uphold and obey.

radiojake, despite your manta or mine there is only one question that is a direct way of looking at it.

Do you think Alfons Pirimapun should have been allowed to stay in Australia after he served prison time in Queensland for multiple sexual assaults?

Yep, Victoria Police do. Of the 884 people processed for rape in 11/12, 620 were born in Australia.

India and Sudan were next, with 45 and 17 respectively.

568 were considered as looking Caucasian.
