Come on Ratts and MC, with Waitey going down, it's time for everyone's favourite cult figure and Irishman Carlos to be given an extended run in the Carlton squad.
He might have made a mistake kicking Clokey, but he isn't the first or last man on earth to have a whack at a Cloke !!!
The bloke might isn't the most talented player going around, but by god, he is so passionate and plays for the jumper 100 percent each week, with that usual Irish firey peidgree.. Certainly if everyone in the starting 18 played with the same passion and intensity as Carlos every week, we would very rarely lose a game.

Lets start the petition to bring Carlos back into the squad, I am convinced he will make it still as a decent league player, given the chance, and yeah Cam Cloke seems to have forgiven him, and we all know about the luck of the Sharmock, a bit of Irish magic in our squad will help turn our season round ...

BTW I think he is, honest to god, I think the cloke-gate incident has clouded people's percepetions of Big Irish ..

He has proven in the past that he can beat Jono Brown, Mattina Lloyd and a few other power fowards, and I firmly believe he is better suited perhaps as an backman then a foward, but bringing in him for an period of time, gives us the luxury of trying Austin Powers up foward.

Lets face it, we are hardly blessed with other options, Hartlett has shown that he isn't good enough for AFL level, and Cloke, well god knows where is he at the momemt

I haven't been a fan from day one and I think that alot of his "passion and bravado' is manufactured and can only take you so far. See Richmond last Saturday night and their chest thumping and fist pumping when they scored a few goals. It only lasts for so long.

I like your support of him though if that makes sense

Dude forget it,his gone,how many players in AFL or VFL stay on the list when they 27 before the season starts next year and isn't permanent in the side now in a position.It's taken him 5 years to keep a spot permanently but hasn't happen because he gets moved around and players usually retire before 30 unless they are champion or good midfielder.He was making a good Full Back but for some reason it stopped the last 2 years since Ratten took charge and now it's ****ed for him.

The club would see they could only get 3 years of him as a defender or forward while a guy like Austin has still 8 years or more at 21. I don't hate him as a player but you can't see much of a future especially now Jamison got the full back.It would be different if he was like 23 and starting to do well at least you could get 6-7 years.

That's where guys like Bower,Austin.Jamison can make it with the experience of Waite and Thornton who both have 5 years at least after this year.

True it only does last for so long but thats for players who have to force themselves to thump their chest and fist pump, Setanta naturally does this so for him it actually does last for a full game and brings excitement to players around him. With Waite down Setanta should def come into the team he can match it phyiscally with the big forwards which NO ONE ELSE on Carltons list can physically hold their own. He isnt the answer but will be part of the solution.
Fisher must come back into the team after kicking 4 goals with the Bullants on the weekend and get Houlihan back into the team our kicking in the first half of the Adelaide game is enough for him to return.
Fevola must return to the goal square that is where he is most potent why have a 99 goal kicker from last year getting touches on the HBF or the wing every time he did their was no one there to kick to anyways. Becoming non fevola concious doesnt mean you take him out of the forward line it simply means players with the ball on the wing must choose the right option into the 50 which if Fisher returns he can be that other forward option.

Dont rate him and never have. Only reason he is still on the list is because he is Irish. If he was Australian, 27 (or however old he is) and still not a permanent member of the side, he would have been gone years ago.

Hartlett is useless and should be delisted asap - he has been given plenty of opportunities and never showed anything. His best game was in that friendly against Freo in Sourth Africa! Plus he is injury prone...I am sick of people going on about him as if he is anything more than a reasonable VFL player.

Irish has been given ample chances and PLENTY of time to cement a spot or become a regular senior plyer....and he hasnt.
Lets use the time that Waite is out to get games into someone at CHB.......Hartlett,Austin so next year we have those positions shored up and have that spine we lack.......Waite can also stay forward where he is dangerous.

Harlett's played 8 AFL games, which really isn't plenty of opportunities. He's also had his best year injury wise and from all reports has performed well in the Bullants down back.

Yes, he does have to prove himself more than what he has, but he's a long kick and can take a mark. Surely, if he can get a clean run with injury which he has at the moment, you'd try him for 4 or 5 consecutive weeks in the AFL and if he doesn't show anything then bad luck for Hartlett - but he deserves another chance.

Setanta has played 48 games and has failed to cement a spot - he's no ruckmen and has struggled when playing forward. Has done alright at times down back, but with his aggression he tends to give away too many free kicks and because he hasn't grown up playing football he gets out thought quite easily. I'm not saying don't play him by any means, because he can be difficult to match up on at times, but I'd tried Hartlett down back before turning to Setanta.

Don't worry mate, I concur, Hartlett is a dud and is finished at this club.

What some people fail to realise is that there is a massive gap between the VFL and AFL standard ..

Hartlett's ability in the VFL compared to the AFL, is exactly like that of Digby Morrell and Brett Johnson, they were rubbish in the AFL for Carlton but have done extremely well in the VFL ...

stick him at CHB & tell him to not be 1 step away from his man. he can run with a Reiwoldt & muscle it with Johno Brown & most importantly has the borlls to actually fire up & give them a red hot go. Much prefer him than those who dont seem to give a crap when they get a game, least he'll go thru a brick wall for the team.
