Now, I'm probably pushing the BF boundary pretty fine here but what determines what form of contraception you do or don't use with a partner?

Do you partake in casual sex with 1 or more partners?

Do you always use a condom?

Do you rely on one party's implant or pill to prevent pregnancy only and are not overly worried by the risk of catching STD's?

Do you believe that people have received enough education on contraception and the prevention of STD's to make correct decisions?

Do people just get drunk and throw commonsense out the window in regards to these issues?

Is this a marketing research assignment? Personally I'm only going in wearing my jacket most girls are s**** these days.

Nup, it's not for an assignment, just throwing the topic out there.

Poll is not public by the way so people can't see how you answer.

Feel free to discuss to if you are brave enough!

As I said in the 'Things You've Never Done' thread, I've never had a 'one night stand', nor had sex outside of a commited relationship. Come to think of it, I've never actually really discussed contraception beyond something like "Got any condoms?" or "I'll go grab some condoms", and have never really asked any partners if they're using anything like The Pill. I've always just gone and used a condom without a second thought, and the partners I've been with have seemingly just assumed that that's the way things will be done too, because they've never really questioned it. To be honest, I haven't ever really wanted to or tried to avoid using condoms at all, even in longer-term relationships. It might feel more pleasureable or whatever, but I'm also not wanting an STD or a partner to fall pregnant.

When did STD's become STI's? I'm assuming it was right about the time they decided to sell Telstra, but could be wrong...

I think they might be of the mindset that calling them 'infections' instead of 'diseases' sounds more attractive and less 'deadly'. IMO, it just lessens the seriousness of the topic, and makes it sound like every sexual transmitted problem can just be cured with one trip to the doctor.

If she's thin, stiick it in.
If she's fat, have a bat.

as a man i cant get prego so its up to the woman to provide anti-virus software. If i get an "sti", meh.... I'll write a blog.

I'm very skeptical when it comes to condoms giving that much more protection against STD's compared to barebacking. They don't cover your balls, they don't cover the bottom of your shaft, your mouth obviously isn't protected. There are conflicting studies when it comes to their efficacy unless it's to protect from aids (Which I'm not worried about contracting living in Australia)

STD's are a risk, with condoms and without. It's really annoying that people think just because they're wearing one, they're suddenly immune. Their primary purpose is to prevent pregnancy, which they do a good job of.

Sometimes I wear them sometimes I don't, depends on the situation.

Yuo can be skeptical about it, dude, but they do.

They're obviously not a magic barrier against crabs or herpes, but there are more STDs than just those

Also, they do work very well against HIV. Stop listening to the Catholic Church.

VD begats STD begats STI begats......?

You see our problem here is that diseases on your jewels contracted via root ratism are always going to have a stigma, not because of the name for them but because of what they are. Every generation has a new bunch of 'thinkers' who reckon they can reduce the stigma by changing the name. It ain't the name you tool, so just leave it.

I propose we call them Love Bugs so then you can say "they're Love Bugs honey, you got them because I love you too much!".

Always wear a connie, pregnancy reasons. I'm only 20 and the thought of getting a kid at the moment scares the shit out of me. Even if it's only a one night stand it's a pretty shithouse thing to let a girl run the risk of pregnancy whilst I head back to my own life and never see her again.

Always wear protection. My main reason is I don't want to get some random Girl pregnant & have to deal with those consequences although std's are a concern as I've been there done that. I caught Chlamydia off a girl years ago & it was a disgusting disease. They are out there.....

On a side note, any boy's here had the snip? Thinking of having it done when next in Perth.

Keep in mind that your urethra provides a healthy environment for a lot of microbes to thrive.

They're not full-proof, but the definitely help.

If you've read any studies I'd like to see them for their context/perspective.

80s and 90s always bareback, plenty of one night stands, it's what a lot of people did.
Look on the fridge for phone bills in the morning so you know where to call the cab to while she's in the shower.
See her out again the next week or night, either get abused or have a good laugh about it. That's how it was.

never had a one night stand (since im 19 and can't bring them home) so i've never been drunk(while doing it), so i've never thrown caution to the wind and not used a rubber.

I usually meet a girl, maybe hook up with her at a club and get her number and then meet up afterwards. Sorry to derail a bit but when you're in your mid 20s and own your own place are one night stands way more common?

When you wake up in the morning, look next to you and feel like hanging yourself with the shower curtain, that's when you run and make it a one night stand.
