One of the reasons I was attracted to the Baghdad Bombers, apart from the playing list, camels, and figs was the clubs outstanding MISSION STATEMENT.

“TO BELT THE LIVING SUITCASE OUT OF EVERY SFA TEAM WHO CHALLENGE US ON AND OFF THE DESERT”

Now anybody that’s ever carpet bombed campaigners into the dark ages would know that the term ‘mission’ is derived from sorties that deliver payloads or ‘statements’. So you can see straight up that the term mission statement has Bomber origins.

I know, yet another first; to go with the development of the written word five millennia ago in Mesopotamia; not to mention the inspiring Qootball and banter.

Baghdad’s foundations are not only built on shifting sands… but on talented players, feisty livestock, thirsty sponsors, fanatical supporters and of course, our highly valued volunteers like Ahmed the boot-studder.

Whilst our ultimate aim is to be consistently competitive and challenge for Qemierships, we will always endeavour to do this without compromising our underlying culture and values listed below.

  • Provide an opportunity for people to participate in our Team thread in an IED safe, friendly and campaigner environment.
  • Develop young harems
    motsQC0.gif
through comprehensive ‘training programs’ overseen by suitably qualified ‘coaching staff’.
  • To encourage and foster our rooks to muck out the stables and wash Coaches camel, with the aim of providing the core group that underpins the sustainable success of our Club, both on and off the desert.
  • Encourage SFA community involvement through unprecedented thread creation, events and fundraising activities and be recognised as a leading contributor to the SFA .
  • Support the SFA values of innovation through moderation, with Banhammer being of a last resort.
  • Continue to be a well-respected and envied club in the top echelon of the SFA, with success both on and off the desert.
  • To provide a social environment that encourages greater participation by all Baghdadians.
  • To exercise tolerance of campaigners who try to cut us down, and to always act smugly, honourably but respectfully.

Mission statements are damned hard to put together unless you’re a Gumby…“TO BE FLEXIBLE”
Perhaps you could suggest a clubs mission statement?

We've got to keep you interested.
What would be the point if we won EVERY game?

Who really gives a * if Bumbler is interested? Not even his own team enjoys his company ...

I’m sorry, could you repeat that? It’s difficult to understand you sometimes, through all your crying.
