A bit rich coming from a club that's spent over $30K on coaches. One thing EB could never be accused of is opening the cheque book. From my mail there is simply not a fat one there. If you do your homework you'd see that the list has been retained over the last 3 years and topped up. If you also want to check it EB have won 4 flags in the last 20 years and have won more than any other SFL club overall. Where do Dingley sit with that? You'd want to hope they choke but history tells us they normally win them when they get there. By the way you're welcome to the 16 home growns because they're no good.

I'm pretty sure EB opened the chequebook to get Mark Wyld and Kivanc Cevik across from St Pauls the year they knocked us off in the grand final!

It's never over til it's over. Cevik and Wyld played for next to nothing Bad blue from the Doggies telling them both that they didn't suit the "game plan" If they play for St. Pauls you win the flag simple as that! If you reckon $100.00 per game is opening the cheque book I'm sure all clubs are guilty. Like to know how few have been on $100.00 a game at City even though we are a few years on. That amount would have fallen out of Cassets socks at half time. St.Pauls have been extra good for an extra long time.

Any East Brighton premiership team (1991 I think ) that had Richard Trayling playing for them, opened the cheque book.

$50.00 was a lot more valuable then but wouldn't be considered extravagant for Trayling. On the lower end of the pay scale

Chelsea Heights vs St Pauls x 22 pts Big game for Heights playing for 3 spot ( Heights need to win this one or it is bye bye 2011)
Tooronga Malvern vs Mordialloc x 12pts TM playing to stay in Div 1 ( will TM have any ring ins ??? :D)
Clayton vs Cheltenham x 46 pts Clayton playing to stay in Div 1 Cheltenham need to win well but clayton can't get beat by to much as it could mean staying in Div 1 with %
Heatherton vs St Kilda City x 35 pts City easy
Dingley vs East Brighton x 13 pts Dingoes playing to save there coach ( dingoes don't want to finish a poor season with only 1 win out of there last 11 games )

So most games have something to play for
Tips

St. Pauls v Chelsea (St Pauls by 5 goals. Chelsea too ravaged by injury. Perfect lead in to finals for SP)
Tooronga v Mordialloc (Mordialloc by 7 goals, Bye Bye TM. Will struggle in Div 2 next year as I suspect the players holding the club together are close to retirement)
Clayton v Cheltenham (Cheltenham by 7 goals, Clayton to stay up. With a new coach who can bring players expect improvement next year)
Heatherton v City (City by 10 goals, Heatherton gave up weeks ago. City could win by more but I would expect them to rest players)
Dingley v East Brighton (East Brighton by 3 goals. East Brighton to kick clear in the last quarter. Dingleys close loss to city will be too draining for them to replicate that sort of intensity again)

St. Pauls will beat a depleted Chelsea Heights who have been smashed with injuries. If they get over the line though it changes the whole equation. CH would retain 3rd. StP would be seriously asking questions of its list and City would find it hard from 4th. Chelt are making up numbers. As good as they have been in recent years Lockharts boys will find it too hard to get past the fast running Doggies but a great contest looms. Doggies by 18 points.
Tooronga won't beat Mordialloc the Bloods by 8 goals
Clayton have everything to play for but no upset here against Cheltenham. The Rosella's have too much class but the game is a danger given it has no impact on the final 5. Chelt by 15 points.
City weren't that impressive against the Tonners first time around and took a bit of time to shake them off. They may rest players but won't drop this one. Tonners have a heap of injuries also and will be playing for time. City by 10 goals.
Dingley put up a brave fight last week against the reigning premiers and will have to produce again to have a chance against the ladder leaders. The Vampires are managing their list nicely and should be too good. EB by 30 points

Forwardpress = AGC?

St Pauls wouldn't be the team of the decade, that would go to St Kilda City for winning 3 flags (2007, 2009, 2010).

I think it's safe to say East Brighton should be the raging favourites this year due to the fact they finished top of the ladder and only lost 2 games (1 being in round 1 as the team was just getting used to playing together, and the other being undermanned against Chelsea)

IMO East Brighton, us, St Kilda City and Chelsea Heights are all capable of winning it on their given day.

I think the large space

All i know is this finals series is going to be a
City won in 2002 as well

Mahalo, how can you say that Dingley are getting better with only 6 wins for the year, with only 1 win in the last 11 that is p..s poor, and you have spent $30,000+ on a coaching panel, for what? They are along way off the pace and if they dont get some new players in next year you will be heading back to D2 very fast .Also please try to get them from outside the SFL you might have more chance if they don't know much about you as a club
Remember Mahalo every other team is going to get better next year :D:D:D:D
Hope to see you at SAVE THE DINGLEY COACH game on Saturday and all the best as you will need it :D:D:D:D:D:D

I know you think I'm having a go at you, but this is all fact, not your fiction you come up with

2 days to come back with this dribble...........YAAWWWWWWNNN!!!

If you merged with Keysy you still wouldnt have a Colts team, you are certainly going places!

LOL this is your future Colts 20/08/11 St Kilda City def. Dingley (16.20-116 0.3-3)
You have always been a joke of a CLUB AND ALWAYS WILL BE

But your 2nds are going so well because you only have 2nds players

But the coaching panel has done so well 1 win from 11 games and to finish on a high of 7 straight
Back to D2 soon for you
Hope to see you at SAVE THE DINGLEY COACH game on Saturday and all the best as you will need it
There should be some great contests this week. The contest I'm most looking forward to hearing about is between Footballs Great and Mahalo if they bump into each other at the can bar!

I dont see much point bagging each others club on a site like this. You keep doing what you think works for Dingley, and we'll keep doing what we know works for EB.
Out of interest what were the years of Dingleys last 3 premiership years.

Great to see so many people coming on here to see what is going on with over 4,000 views over the last 5 days.
Also make sure you get to the Vampire rooms on Saturday Night to celebrate the minor premiership and enjoy world class entertainment with Pat McKernan for the Irish Experience.$40.00 per head is a bargain. Finger food will be served.
Been a great effort from Hopey, Murph ,Cooky and the boys :thumbsu: so see you all there

FG, forget the margin, I can say that we are very proud of our blokes today.
Clayton, with so much on the line, threw everything bar the kitchen sink at us and our blokes (with nothing to play for) stood up when it counted and got across the line.
Not sure what is better entering the finals, either a tough contest to prepare you for the following week or an easy walk in the park.
The proof will always be in the pudding but we are just happy to be there!
Glad to see Clayton stay up. They are more likely than TM to improve next year and increase the competitiveness of Div 1. The stronger the bottom end of the comp, the better.

Mahalo i hope you go and get some added players to help out the young guys so they don't just waste there time playing at a club that doesn't know much about winning
I did have a look around the rooms today and not many 1st 18 flags around, I think only 2 over 50 years that is very poor
But you might win the 2nds
That would be well done, and there will be a party at Dingley, so all best with that, I will be cheering for you

I was talking to a couple of EB people yesterday and they were pretty upset with you gobbing off before the finals have even started.

For your sake mate lets hope the boys dont choke because you havent won anything yet.

So Chelsea were overcome by a surging St Pauls. St Pauls would have to be favourite coming in now after such a comprehensive victory over a side that beat East Brighton by 5 goals only a week earlier. Has City got any chance against the rampaging Doggies? Chelt any chance against Chelsea this week? What are the finals contenders injury lists looking like? Mahalo has been quiet since Dingley were beaten by East Brighton. I hope Footballs Great and Mahalo didnt actually bump into each other and that he came off second best! Would be interested in Mahalo's take on the finals seeing as he has seen City and East Brighton firsthand the last 2 weeks
