Also, just the level a lot of the Div 1 clubs/Premier across all areas struggle for reserves players, Deer Park was giving away free subs to reserve players this year, Noble Park had a lot of under 19's double up

Murrumbeena had great numbers in div 2, however it seems a few people didn't want to step up to do some harder work in div 1!

Looks like HP are at least trying to make sure they are competitive coming up picked up from Briggs Cora Lyn a 6ft/8 ruckman who has comeback to play after playing basketball professionally pereira who also was on Melbourne next gen academy cooper Whitehall who won last two b&f at sale and sale city and one of endeavour hills best young players in Liam hassler and Steve OBrien x Cranbourne coach helping out with the coaching his experience with Div 1 and the other sides will be great for them as well I’d say. They said they have more players to sign yet well there hoping anyway

Any danger Murrumbeena announce some new players? Good on them for retaining a few but without any new ins they'll likely go backwards as they have minimal depth compared to 2024

Have any clubs announced new signings? Murrumbeena has been very strong in the recruiting in the last few years & the club itself probably doesn’t need to add many new players, retention is key with the age of their group and having 3 strong years in 19s they are bound to move up the ladder over the next few years without adding.

What’s news out of Cheltenham? New coach appointed yet? And Dingley? Rumour is a prominent Casey listed vfl forward from the ammos is going to Dingley for mega dollars.

Fair, but having depth and a strong 2s can help the club come September. 4/5 Senior sides had their 2s also playing finals.

That’s absolutely correct but murrumbeena lost 7 or 8 of its first games in reserves and came home flying winning 7of the last 10 including beating Dingley.
The seniors also came out slow out of the blocks which is standard coming up a division.
The reserves will be way stronger with 19s coming up, and They’ve had their year of consolidation. the whole club will be stronger having a year in division 1.
Beena are notoriously well run and have huge participation so they are not a club I’d be worrying about, I’d be looking at brighton to likely not win a game, bentleigh will come back to the fold, port colts could go either way, and Hampton park will need a fair bit to compete at the speed of D1

Still no announcement , strange at this time of the year

There was talk about this on page 47 of this thread back at the end of July, but I don't seem to recall anything being officially announced since that was raised (or any senior coaching announcement for that matter).

I am happy to be corrected but as it stands Edgar is either a coach in secrecy or there is no coach at the All-Stars right now.

Sure, I agree with you in that they haven't explicitly announced it - but reading between the lines shows that he will be coaching next year.
It's very strange , haven't seen anything about the AGM as well . Beena had a great write up on all their changes after the Agm , a well done coaching handover , very good club

Good club Beena but their issue, like so many others in that part of the world is that within a 5 klm radius there is about 10 clubs. Extend that radius just a little bit further and there is about 20. (same applies to cricket FWIW). Compare that to say Dingley. A one club suburb with no rival clubs right on the doorstep.

Beena lost some big bodied experienced heads to $ or retirement post the 2024 flag. While most had played a higher standard their best was past them. They have invested heavily in the U19s and while this alone will not sustain them, they should continue down that path. I note that have appointed the 2025 St Peters U17s coach to their 19s. A strong junior only club whose graduating U17s often head to the VAFA. A shrewd move and this may help steer a few more their way. Some decent Beena juniors running around in ammos or other comps. This year’s B&F Scollo was one of them and getting them back should be a priority
