Just pondering. If we decide to move Daniel Rioli on and trade him. How will this affect Shai Bolton’s decision to stay or go?
These two are obviously tight. And I couldn’t imagine it trading Rioli would be a positive for Bolton.

We will not trade Rioli under any circumstances IMO. He’s being taught a new role at VFL level and will return to the seniors when deemed appropriate.

Those giving Ralph Carr a hard time perhaps need to re-assess their bias. At every opportunity Ralph gives his players good advice to think about their earning opportunities outside of football that up to now have been very good results for Richmond.

A classic example is if Bolton gets Mark of the Year this year. Good luck selling hundreds/thousands of memorabilia items of the mark you took at Richmond while you're now wearing a Dockers or Eagles shirt. Ralph is strong on looking after his players and if my kid was in AFL I'd be comfortable with Ralph as their manager.

This Bolton contract now being lauded as the "blueprint" for emerging gun players. Well done Ralph and good luck to Shai, now in Tigers colours for two more years.
