Fair dinkum did this bloke even play tonight?, he escapes all scrutiny every week and he hasn't kicked a goal in nearly a month...time for the magoos or delist him.

Unfortunately RFC thought he was good enough for a contract extension and gave him another two years.

Peggy and Gale seriously need to take a good look at whoever job it is to sign our players. Contract extensions this year.

S.Edwards two years
Houli two years
Vickery two years
Morris three years

We give away extensions on contracts like lollies and have been doing it for donkey years...that's why we are shit.

Been saying it for ages. 130+ games, would never, ever have gotten to that many at any other club. such a passenger, starting to think hes worse than grigg.

Useless in the midfield, cant kick goals. delist or trade. Enough is enough, hes done, theres no more he can give to the rfc (not sure he gave anything to begin with).

Poor dea, played well, what a strike against his confidence to see idiots like edwards running around doing **** all while he warms the pine. I was in the dimma camp but im really starting to doubt that he knows anything at all, especially making thomas and not lennon the sub. Just stupidity.

He didn't have his best game tonight, but he's had a few good ones recently.

aww morris is a good player when hes not running around with a broken shoulder.

Recruited in 2006. The same draft as Reiwoldt and has done what in his 142 gifted games? He just stands in the way without having any impact ever. Seems to be unable to lay an effective tackle, finds it extremely hard to chase the opposition, won't run to a position to provide an option when we have the ball and when in the middle does not have any impact at all! He is good at scabbing a couple of cheap goals in the forward pocket every couple of games- NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Have long thought he is overrated by the club and supporters. Has always lacked the final bit of polish and consistency needed. Capable of brilliance or horror the gap between best and worst is way too large. Contracted for another couple of years is a joke too.

It was either of the Edwardses that needed to be subbed off tonight, clearly.
No, lets take off Dea one of our few players with any toe that has a dip. Baffling from the coaches box yet again.
Nobody ever said dimma was a smart coach, he's like a deer staring into headlights these days when we are getting smashed.

Bit of a 'not quite' player:

- Not quite a goal sneak
- Not quite a midfielder
- Not quite a tackling/pressure machine
- Not quite an outside player
- Not quite an inside player

I don't see what his role would be. He is elite with his hands and vision in-close but unfortunately does not have the size to play 'inside' for any period of time.

Until a better option comes along, think he is best suited as a deep forward pocket. Can read a crumb and hands good in-tight.

Dea has impressed me at the start of games but looked physically shot by half-time. Think it had more to do with that. Instead I would have had Edwards as a sub and started Matt Thomas

This is spot on - the typical Richmond not-quite player.... he has to play as a goal-crumbing forward or not at all. Personally I think Lloyd is more dangerous but maybe the two of them together would be more dangerous in tandem

He still had more possessions than our other forwards. People say that either of the Edwards were our worst, but have you analysed why? We fiddled around with the ball across the half back line and middle, and we were so slow at moving it into the fwd line that it was almost always congested. When we did kick it quickly to the forwards it was always aimed at Jack, Azza or Hampson. Also, for long periods it never entered our forward line at all, especially in the 3rd quarter.

At the best of times playing as a small forward can be described as "starvation corner". With the style of game played last night, you can magnify that starvation. All the same, unlike so many of his team-mates Shane made no stuff-ups or turnovers, and actually initiated some precise and constructive play with his hands when he did get an opportunity. He pressured well and laid the best shepherd of the night to allow Lids to run in for his goal. Eight of his 12 possessions were contested, a very high ratio, indicating he was winning the ball at least, unlike some of his team-mates who "received" a lot of their possessions. It wasn't one of his better games, and he needed to be busier, but his previous six were consistently good.

Shane rarely holds on to the ball for long, and opens up play and gets things moving so quickly at times that I swear some people don't even notice the good things he does.

4th in tackles for the season

Seriously, do you watch the match, or just listen to the radio? He is constantly running hard to provide an option, and works his butt off chasing the opposition. I don't get this sort of criticism at all. It is not for nothing that he is known at the club as one of the top few for "pressure acts".

this... one bit of play where he roved a pack under extreme pressure and split second hand ball to foley and we were away.

wasn't his best game last night but is good most weeks.

That is one of the incidents that I was referring to. He does them every week.
