Fall Out Boy

In hindsight, i'm quite glad he had a cry and refused to be drafted by us.

Currently sitting in the VFL Reserves, and not looking likely to even make the VFL Seniors anytime soon.

Koula may not do much, but at least he's not Shane Harvey. :p

Wholly serious.

The talent is there, but his laziness and arrogance haven't gone down well at Arden St., nor has his apparent impact on Brent's game.

VFL Reserves! I heard a whisper of that about a week ago, but I thought someone along the lines must have misinterpreted where he was actually playing.

VFL Reserves for an AFL Seniors listed player, now that certainly is saying something!

Some AFL clubs with VFL affiliates do have a few senior listed players playing VFL reserves from time to time, but not players of Harvey's age and experience.

Throw Jade Rawlings in the same basket, eh phat? ;)

Very good.

I'd still love Jade, and i did predict we should get Guerra on Cats Claw, so i didn't do too badly.

He has the talent, and will probably play some decent footy at some stage, but given his attitude and personality, i wouldn't want him anywhere near KP.

Any bloke that uses a false claim of suicide to dissuade a club from drafting them, has serious issues.

Do you remember Thompson's anger towards Harvey after the draft? Never seen him so mad, he basically said if Harvey wants to act a certain way, he will never make it.

What happened was that the night before the draft, Thompson phoned Harvey to indicate that we would be drafting him. Harvey then said that if we (or any other side, apart from North) drafted him, he would kill himself.

Was this publicly stated or you just heard it from somebody?

Pretty weak form.

Juxtaposed with Jade Rawlings, one has to respect him (Rawlings) immensely if that's the case. Didn't want to play for the Bulldogs, but just took it on the chin.

It certainly was public knowledge at the time, although i don't believe it was ever officially released to the media.

Harvey himself made it public knowledge. He had a sooky-sooky-la-la whinge on the news [ch7 I think].

Never thought much of him when he was a Bomber, though he did have some potential (one feels Moorcroft was released because we thought Harvey would stay). Left us, after playing senior footy, and is now playing in the reserves. That's justice I guess.

I'd kill myself too if I had to live in Geelong. :p

Only joking.

Can't say what he did was right but I think clubs should not really entertain the idea of drafting people that are not open to playing at the club.

Forcing someone by force wont achieve anything. They will take the money, put in a mediocre effort, get de-listed and get picked up where he wanted to go a year later. The only people that lose out is the club who has made room for someone that doesn't want to play there.

As to Shane, he has fantastic skills but he is very much a receiver, if he is given the ball he will do some impressive things with it.

He will never be an in-and-under player but he lacks the physicque and conditioning to play at AFL level in our side in any running position.

We had the option to go with either Davey or Harvey, i don't think we expected him to be available by our pick so we were going to stick with the plan to get Davey.

Naturally, things worked out that Geelong didn't draft him.

They say skill-wise he is better than his brother, he just needs to be put through a program which will raise his skills in other departments, no idea what he was doing at Essendon.

He is 21, if he can get his act together in the next year or two then he could still give the club alot of service.

Davey is a good young kid but he had alot of flaws of his own (we should know as he played for our VFL team and we brought him here to play football). He has alot of potential but as people watch the games he is playing will find the flaws in the way he plays.

At the end of the day, we have better options irrespective who was drafted, I dont think either would have got much game time for us this year.
