Absolutely not one sided, He kicks more on his opposite than any other play in our team.

And maybe thats the problem, his disposal is shocking becasue he goes to his non preferred so often. Maybe, just like Jamie Turner found out all those years back, he needs contacts lenses. Hence why Turner was called Jamie Turnover until he got them.Absolutely not one sided, He kicks more on his opposite than any other play in our team.

O'Bree is a tough decision for mine. I agree with several of the other posters that he is not going to win us a premiership and my view with these types of players is that we should not be playing them. I understand the notion that you need senior experienced players within the team as well but I think Swan's graduation to AFL elite (if you take out the fumble running into goal last week) and Davis's move to the midfield means we don't have kids in there. Pendlebury has now stepped up also and he and Swan had more clearances than O'Bree on the weekend.
My thoughts are that he should probably stay in the side for the next couple of weeks but now is the time to introduce Beams and get more midfield time into Maxwell and Thomas. By mid-year we should then be able to phase O'Bree out and bring Sidebottom into the team. Maxwell should be able to provide all the midfield grunt work O'Bree currently does and I think you will see a massive improvement in Thomas's clearance work as well with exposure.
On the subject, I think the same should apply to Johnson. The sooner he is phased out for a McCarthy or Wellingham the closer we will get to a side that can challenge Hawthorn and Geelong.
