Has to be a certainty to go to GWS. Back to back Listons aren't won by spuds and even though I still think Myles Sewell should have been picked up, Valenti has better attributes than Sewell. If not GWS, minimum rookie list.

Showed in the prelim final today why he won the liston.... will be a certain AFL recruit for GWS next season....lets hope a 'Myles Sewell' situation doesnt happen and that he does in fact get another chance at the top level.

Yes i would like to see this happen. It would be great to see him get picked up in A F L with say G W S.
Just wonder who else is off to the Big grand final Sunday? And wonder if anyone even wants to predict the outcome? Should be a cracking game.

Melbourne should have kept him, any reason why they got rid of him?

No idea, he and Simon Buckley got booted (same year i think) not sure why either were let go... I actually assumed he had arranged something with GC Daniel Harris style, but not to be, strange decision considering both guys were playing well when let go?

Yeah that's frustraing when players get kicked out like that, I still think Russell Robertson, Brad Miller and James McDonald had another year or two left in them... Valenti and Buckly were young and showing something...

Valenti was let go only because he was out of contract and had they kept him, they would have had to delist a player in contract and pay him out. They were close to the salary cap.
That's so unlucky... Dees should get him back! :):thumbsu:

What a fantastic VFL player he is.... lets hope he doesnt have a Myles Sewell experience and miss out on another AFL opportunity... GWS will come calling.

Buckley was moved on because he can't kick over a jam tin.

You sure your talking about Buckley? He misses some targets sure but he has a massive shoe on him, is actually a good run and carry long kicking player, think the fact he played 13 games for the pies this year proves he would comfortably be in your top 22 if not top 10 players...

I didn't notice the bad kicking, I did notice every other bad thing Melbourne did around those years..

Buckley was and is rubbish, he wasnt in Collingwoods best 22 because he wasnt in their Grandfinal team. He looks good in a great team...alot of players would i imagine. I wouldnt have him back. Probably wouldnt have Valenti back, to slow and disposal isnt great, is a very good VFL player obviously though imo.

Anyone know about Travis Tuck? apparently he might train with the Dess due to the connection with one of our new coaches Satterly?

Valenti didnt get picked up in the draft so will he go in the Rookie one??? Will Sheeds take the punt... guy is a ball magnet!!
You'd think he'd take either Valenti or Sewell. Both are stars of the VFL and would give a lot of experience and both have established a history of winning.
