As somebody showed in another thread, this bloke is the heart and soul of the collingwood footy club. He is as reliable as they come and rarely does the wrong thing.

I dont know about you guys, but i feel safe when wakes has the ball, i cant recall a poor kick over his season. He goes in and out of the team due to matchups, which must be frustrating, but he does it for the team. He must be loved around the club.

I sincerely hope that he plays on in 2009. He may not play every week, but he provides invaluable knowledge to our younger defenders (brown, harry, goldsack).

He gave kozi a free footy lesson last night and i hope he continues his tremendous form in september (hoping we qualify!!)

He was severely missed against Hawthorn.

Is embaraasing how underated he is by media, embarassing for them. He is nearly the same age as Robert Harvey and regularly hands out absoulute spankings to media 'rent boys' like Kozi. When every other panicky back is spoiling Wakes is taking marks and kicking it out or running off his man on the wing to bang it into the forward line. Love it, one of my favs along with Burns, Lockyer and Fraser.

Big week for Wakers this week as he will line up for his 250th game against his old SA mob Port at AAMI. Has been a great servant for us since crossing from the Saints.

Class Act. I remember reading somewhere he played 99 games for St.Kilda, they will be spewing if he has a kid worthy of drafting!
