if he was injured, he shouldn't have been selected to play against the Lions then.

Nonetheless, Grigg had an injury interrupted year and never really got going IMO.

Was fantastic against the Saints.

Still needs to bulk up a fair bit and work as hard as he did last year.

Along with Warnock, Yarran, Robinson, Jamison, Waite and Walker, Grigg will be our upside for 2010 and become a very good player.

I don't consider Grigg a soft player or a poor kick like some supporters.

Bingo. TheGeneral likes making excuses for everything Carlton though. Living in denial.
Who asked for your opinion?

Why would you expect anything different from a Carlton supporter?

Grigg has shown that he's a better player than his 2009 form suggests.

I suggest if you start chasing every post he makes on this board you will soon be banned
Run away child

Was Grigg kicking with a dead foot after getting a jab so he could play?

Or was he injured in the game?

With Robinson and Hadley injured, we had to select Grigg who was the next best available midfielder.

Injuries hit us hard at the wrong time of the year.

*Cough*Bentick*Cough*

Grigg, although a tough player who i rate, is a different type of player to Hadley and Bentick. He's a better player than Bentick, but Bentick was the type of player we needed. Hadley and Bentick are tackle and extraction specialists, Grigg although tough, simply is not

I don't think his ankle would have had an effect on his lack of hardness at the ball.

He has plenty to work on over the pre season.

I think we've already covered that and criticised Grigg enough in this thread.

As I said last week, Grigg wasn't soft after he won the ball in the middle and broke free like Judd by standing up in the tackle and using his pace.

The calls that he's soft are shitfull.

Grigg's disposal needs more polish, but he was cleaner than JR at the same stage in their careers...

And ahead of him as a footballer...

I really hoped that he would make it as a footballer... but his development has stalled and nothing really has improved. He needs to really pull his finger out this pre-season and show that he deserves a spot on our list.

Wish him all the best.

Far from it. Look back to the Collingwood game and you'll see exactly as to the reason why he was dropped.

I like Grigg, but there's no doubt that he went through a stage mid season where he wasn't willing to take a hit and didn't want to put his body on the line. Whether that is a result of several other injuries sustained throughout the season causing a loss of confidence, or a loss in form as a result of not playing enough games - it's still something that needs to be addressed by him over the off season.

I'm sure it will be. He's a fine player as we saw in 08 and early 09. But he has aspects of his game that he has to work hard on if he wants to hold a spot in 2010.

Spot on like a speck on something with already a considerable amount of specks. :thumbsu:

See what I did there.......

I think a lot of Big Footy posters need to have a think about injuries and what players are going through before calling for their heads....Players usually lose form from 1 thing above all else and that's injuries..

I'd say 2/3rds of our list would have had surgery our are resting up now because they have been carrying injuries. I know for a fact on of our guys had a fracture in his back sustained in round 22 and played both finals.

It's all well and good to say they shouldnt be playing with injuries, but if we did that we wouldnt have a side, plain and simple
