I won't post the whole article, I presume most have read it and it's here for those that haven't - http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/common/story_page/0,8033,19057965%5E20123,00.html

I actually agree with most of what he says. Except for his comment on Jobe missing the shot at goal. I think he was trying to pass, if he was shooting at goal he would have nailed it. It was the indecisiveness that hurt him.

One thing I did find really interesting was his final comment in the article. "Perhaps successive years out of the finals for the first time in Sheedy's tenure."

Why perhaps? Why wouldn't your write us off Mike?

We didn't make the finals in 1987 and 1988. Next year will be the first time under Sheedy that we haven't made the finals in three seasons (2005-2007).

2006 will be the worst year ever under Sheedy (< 8 wins).

And Jobe should have had a shot, no excuses. You don't muck around when scores are level and time is running out. When you are that close to goal, with no one in the square, you have a shot and take the lead.

It's like Hird in 1996 when we were down by 1 point to the Swans, he just booted it to get a score, no finessing, looking for a forward, boot to ball, get the point, goal if you're lucky, and take it from there.

Most of what Mike wrote I agree with as well.

The most concern was what he wrote about the team not consoling Jobe. Did anyone notice this or know anything about it? Is this just a beat up from Mike? I would assume that he would have been consoled behind doors.

absolute rubbish. The guy's a league footballer, he doesn't need a hug from him mum ffs

Sheedy will love the chance to use it to fire the boys up, though that said i don't think effort is where we've been falling down.

I agreed with most of it too. The Age gave us about a full page as well. Solly has been called out so it will be interesting to see how he responds, and if he even gets the chance to in the seniors, which i suspect he will.

Wonder if Walls will lay the boot in tonight OTC.

R&B,
You been having a bad run at Crown or something ? :D

We aren't that bad.
There are two teams clearly ahead of the rest - Adelaide and West Coast.
Then there are a group of 10 teams all basically together with maybe C'wood and The Swans the leaders.

Then there are the bottom four clubs.
Richmond, Brisbane, Port Adelaide and Carlton

We are in that middle group of teams whereby any one team can beat the other on any given day.

Monfries kicks a score against Hawthorn and Watson doesn't have a brain fade or Dean Polo's kick in the 1st quarter doesn't turn at right angles and we'd be 3-3.

I hate losing too (was shattered on Sat night) but its no use dwelling on the negatives.

In poker terms we keep getting AQs but our opponent is getting AK.
Sooner or later our luck will change.

The 1-5 record looks bad but its totally deceptive.
I'm telling you don't write us off just yet.

Well, we're 0/2 from that lot so far. I don't think we can lose to Carlton, but Port will be 50/50 even at the Dome, so we could be 1/3 from supposedly the worst 4 clubs. But don't get me wrong, I am not unhappy or angry at our plight, I have accepted it with a calmness. Losing to Carlton *might* be a tad annoying. But look at the draw, at best we'll be 3/7 after Round 10.

Just don't go there. More like rockets IN POSITION which flop a set, against 6-2 off UNDER THE GUN which catches a straight on the river. I am so peeved with poker at the moment, need to read more Miller & Sklansky.

How the hell did Winda get the front page of the sports section? Was it really that big of news to get the coverage that it did. What Winda did makes sense to me.

What a load of absolute rubbish.
This how stupid soem people have got involved in football clubs.
The excuse they gave was absurd.
Typical Sheedy thing, to be different.
Guess what Sheeds, you have outsmarted yourself.
You picked Campo to play and he broke down again, dont blame the player.
As for playing fat boy Rioli, a joke:eek:

What Winderlich did wasn't a Sheedy directive. So stick your theory where it fits.

It was a fitness staff directive and it happens every week.
