If we are gonna make any progress ths year, sheeds is gonna have to start taking risks. Currently we look slow and predictable, more so when lloyd is in the team. kick it long to lloyd or lucas, there seems to be no alternative. we need to rely less on these two, to mix it up a bit. play them in diff possies. we need to start playing our players out of position. see what they can offer to us besides the usual. our gameplan doesnt seem to change and we have been found out. we are going to continue to linger at the bottom if we rely solely on the recruiting process. we need to get more out of what we have currently. we are not consistent, we rarely have all our players firing at the same time. we rely on the same players each week and if they are well held, we're stuffed. give houli, loneran et al a go. blood them. otherwise our future is looking really grim :(

The coach is in survival mode at the moment- hence playing Watson instead of Houli or others.

Houli wouldve been towelled up if he had've played. We're still very ordinary in the middle and it doesnt appear we'll get any better anytime soon. Silly turnovers and poor disposal hurt us dearly.

It's not about taking risks. It's about making smart tactical and calculated decisions.

Blind Freddy can see that Bolton is not going to give us anything. He won't influence a game and should only be selected if we have 21 fit players!

Dyson has had 3 poor games and should have been dropped.

At least Houli would have ran his guts out and layed some tackles. Maybe inspired ohters to do the same.

Lonergan should be give a game ahead of Dyson for his hardness and competitiveness.

It's so bleeding obvious that it's killing me!

it is about taking risks. playing bolton was playing it safe. playing jj is playn it safe. play some untrieds. mix it up, take risks

Our season is in the balance, but there's still time to turn it around. We dont need to take risks with selection, the risks need to be taken out on the field.

They play a flood. We can revert to our possession style of footy and work it in, depending on if we can dispose of the damn thing correctly.

Lucas has gone cold after his blistering start to the season, so let him get some touch and play him on Franklin with Johns busting packs in the forward 50 on his own with our crumbers going after it once it hits the deck.

Evidently, throwing a kid in against a gun midfield group isnt going to help our cause instantly. We dont even have a ruck combination that can give our players first use of the ball.

Lucas is not fit. Do not play Lucas on the back line. When he shakes his head from side to side while chasing, ala Greg Anderson, he's leeting you know something.

Maybe both Sheeds and Hird were hoping for something that just wasnt there to begin with this season. Lets hope we're proven wrong.

we should start playing like we did in 2000. Might win a few more. Buddy franklin could be the next Lloyd. Remember how good Lloyd was early in his career.

I think so. It looks like he came of age today.

As for Lonegan / Houli - after todays game I think they should get a run. Before the game, I thought with Winderlich coming back (we really missed his pace), and Jason Johnson to get some hard ball that it might have been enough. Hawthorn proved that we've still got a long way to go.
