IF Hird goes, would Essendon supporters want Sheedy back in a similar role he has at GWS for a couple of years? I think it would be a great move to win back hearts and minds.

Oh no, nowhere near coaching. I maintain, along with numerous others, that he completely lost the plot in his concluding years - coaching passed him. Nevertheless, as a PR sort of guy talking to sponsors etc, yes absolutely.

As long as he is nowhere near the footy department he's most welcome to come back. An ambassadorial role would be perfect for him.

I'd prefer to see Neale Daniher, Goodwin or Roos as our next coach should Hird get hit for 6.

People are pretty quick to leap all over Sheeds' coaching, but he has at least taken a more robust approach with GWS than the McKenna method. For my money, anyway. They won't have as good a year as GC's 2013 next year, but when they dominate they'll be better.
