His presence obviously makes a massive difference to the side, this is a sign of a captain.

If Nathan Brown finishes the year strongly should he be wearing #17 in 2008?

definately. he is our morale lifter, can turn a modest win into a 49 point thrashing. if he plays the rest of the year like that game no doubt we might even make the finals. thats right, the finals. saw some talent beyond even the best last night. aside from brown, thursfield, king (who has had a stellar season, would back him for club best and fairest), deledio, who had a brilliant game, joel bowden, who showed me he has talent, and i cant believe im saying this, but johnson did pretty well. in fact it was his best all year. besides that im disappointed at richo. last night couldve sworn my son could kick better. appaling for a veteran.

Jade Rawlings said on SEN before the game last night that Brown was one player who he had preconceived ideas of. He said he had visions of being a bit selfish and someone who didn't work hard. Said in reality that he is the complete opposite. Trains harder than anyone and is a leader.
Would be nice to make him captain, but he needs to get himself right first. Would be nice to be in the position where we can make him captain until Foley establishes himself and is able to take over in two to three years time.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Sure Browny had a steller return game last night but it doesn't mean he is going to kick 3 goals a game for the rest of the season. I'm hoping he plays everygame (maybe 1 rest) and kicks a few bags of 3+ goals and had a couple more terrific games.

Weren't you calling for him to be delisted because he was too soft not too long ago.
And the answer is no, lets let him get back to his best rather then give him the captaincy as well

Hi people....hope you dont mind me putting in my thoughts......I have always thought he should be captain, i'm a huge fan of Brown, and he just seems a natural leader to me....glad you guys finally have had a win..well done..cheers..

whether brown is captain or not (i wouldn't mind seeing it as johnson looks on last legs), let's get rid of this stupid artificial 'tradition' of giving no. 17 to the captain. it looked wrong on wayne campbell and would look equally wrong on say cogs or dildo if they become skipper one day. is no. 3 not good enough for a tigers captain to wear? flea weightman and roger dean would be rolling over in their graves!
