why is it a gigantic no? i don't get it. its one round and shows some respect. whats the harm?A gigantic NO from me
Thanks, that would be good. I have found a few articles but they're not very detailed. Will see what I can find for you. It was the meeting place for trade, for marriages and for conflict resolution. Many of the mobs of the Kulin nation met here and many came from beyond. Also a very strong burial ground. sacred Aboriginal land. Billibellary is buried not far from there. Also, a great spot for shelter and water and the area with the rock fall provided a brilliant fish trap.
I've been trying it out and Yalla-birr-ang works pretty well as the chant.I have no issue with it for two rounds. Just hoping it would be a name that works in football chants etc.
I like us to be known by our proper title. Can I ask why you have such a hatred for them?
Hardly seems a reason for hatredI like us to be known by our proper title.

Not sure that someone voting no is necessarily due to racism. There could be all sorts of reasons that a person could vote no.2/3rd no vote.
Australia’s casual racism in action.
I’m pretty regular so it will be difficult.I don’t mind changing it for a week.
But can we not shit on Australia Day again next year?
i think its a dead day walkingI don’t mind changing it for a week.

People on both sides of the argument agree this is the most stupid post in the thread so far. This thread doesn't seem like a genuine question but rather troll bait or an excuse to start an argument. I'd like us to be grown up about things, and have adult conversations about important topics but, all I can see is this thread becomong emotionally driven and devolving into name calling and point scoring.
Oh look, point scoring. Cool.People on both sides of the argument agree this is the most stupid post in the thread so far.
Australia day will survive but the date will be changed and we'll all look back and think why the **** didn't we just change the date sooner.i think its a dead day walking

I suppose that's an option - a bit like a well done funeral - where you both acknowledge grief and celebrate a life. I think we're miles off being able to do it though. And the protests will continue…I’m still waiting for a suitable date to be suggested. The past is the past regardless. My personal view is just leave it there and embrace the invasion day aspect of it as part of the day.
